Was? Where are all the Polikarpovs gone, seen at "Warbirds over Wanaka" years ago? One is in Germany and the others? Yup all the Poli's have gone, 1x to Paul Allen, 1x to Germany, 1x to Spain, 1x to the Commemorative Airforce in the USA and 1x to Russia and the other to Jerry Yagen in the USA, the other , i believe that 1 of the I-153s is in Russia again, one in Spain and one in the USA. Sir Tim's plan was to keep 1x of each and sell the rest, but after his accident the family dissolved the collection and sold the entire collection. Sad, but understandable.

Two great pics. #1 is *almost* competition for the true Queen of Class ... the 747!!! B-) <_< :) I've always liked the later 737s ... they kind of look "just right". I try desperately hard to like the A318/A319 out of pure habit/loyalty ... but if I'm really honest with myself - I think I prefer the 737-800. The PMDG version is a true classic. It set a high benchmark when originally released and I don't see it losing its crown. Adam.

Beautiful shots! I wouldn't bring up the livery, as it shows my age, but now that someone else mentioned it, I can only agree! The new black aircraft are striking, but it should have been reserved for one-off specials....

Such a classy aircraft!!! Great pics of it too ... especially #3. I really like my iFly "Queen". I have an ANZ/Pacific Wave livery for it - can't remember whether it came with it or I found it somewhere. Do you have it/want it? Adam.

"Yes please!!! How do you get that scenery in WT? I always get some weird fantasy stuff!" Adam ..... I dont know <_< I just logged into a battle, checked out the scenery which looked good, then checked where the chance of getting killed was and went the other way for some screens  But I agree, some of the WT "worlds" are a little strange, thanks for looking.

Thanks for that Dave. I haven't visited CBFS for sometime. It sort of fell off the radar when I migrated to P3D.

Crossed the bit of water today. About 100nm to Daru so not a terribly long flight. It's a bit of a hike up to Hagan so I'll do it in stages.

Did they add a bit of Chicago area? Yes, Charl, there is a modern CBD but not a lot of the outer suburbs. Meiggs itself is a real blast from the past, complete with ornamental gardens, the pier, the swimming pools - well worth AUD15, or slightly less. Mike

No books on the X15 itself although I have read Always Another Dawn by Scott Crossfield which was written while the X15 was being tested so it details a lot of the engineering but not the flight program which came after.

Well put Mike ...Im a 1957 model, and the advances in aviation from there (as you said) are amazing. My earliest flying memory is flying to Auckland with my father on a Viscount ...followed by things like watching US Navy Neptune's and Constellations at NZCH ...seeing the first Mount Cook Airlines HS748 arrive , the first QANTAS 747. Then as a young fella in the RNZAF flying home on leave in a Dak or a Bristol Freighter ...seeing the first Andover arrive and the last freighter leave ...taking my first flight in the Air Force in a Harvard ...then a Devon. And MANY years later helping to...
