Thank you for mentioning Mr. Noriega. I appreciate his work and currently fly his aircraft, such as the Caproni Vizzola J22 Venura and the Nardi 333. I am very pleased that we are also discussing unusual aircraft, rare designs, and vintage aircraft here. I have left all the German forums because they are too patronizing, leave little room for discussion, and are heavily biased toward Airbus...

Here's a little trivia that turned up unsolicited on my phone. The C-17 is quite unsymmetrical: the RHS sponson is substantially longer than the other side! Stands to reason actually, airliners have the APU in the tail and RAT in the hold - on this bird you need all the load area you can get, and there's a ramp in the tail. These go in the undercarriage fairing, then. Just quite why it all went in the one side isn't clear, but there would be good cause for this I imagine. Perhaps I should start paying attention to what I think about in front of the phone :unsure:

Well, thanks for watching. As far as textures go, it's just what's available... I thought it would be sensible to fly a training aircraft rather than one of the famous aerobatic formations. :rolleyes:

I finally finished the Auckland flight. Here's an example of what I see in MSFS2024, with a wide range of different coloured tiles, none of which is an attractive colour. I loaded up the same scene in 2020, and saw the same patchwork, although the colours are better. I don't remember 2020 being this bad, I guess it's the 'new' Bing imagery from 2024 which they included in 2020 with the latest sim update... I don't like it.

One might think that it was underpowered. It is indeed remarkable that I did not come to the same conclusion on this flight with all that stuff under the wings. But that is not the case! It is similar with the Vouga “Magister,” which has the same engines (also two).

The DC-6 is one of the aircraft I would have liked to have experienced in its original form.

The EMB 121 “Xingu” surprised me. It looks like the “little sister” of the EMB 120 “Brasilia” regional airliner. This is an aircraft that was developed after the EMB 110 Bandeirante. Both sold well, especially in the USA. The Brasilia was a comparatively sophisticated aircraft, not necessarily pleasant to fly and fast for a small PTL aircraft. The Xingu, however, is pleasant to fly, not only in the model.
