Nah whoever doesn't win it will feel hard done by, and that's an unfair position for Good Work. But I think there might be an element in a Banner which somehow is more than just a screenshot. So it gives food for thought: what would that be? A story? A meaning to the hobby? A nod to some back story in NZ aviation? These thoughts come to the fore when there's been a great bottle of Cab Sav shared among Great Minds. Tomorrow will be a different story I'm sure :D

QUOTE (Bazza @ Jun 4 2014,9:10 PM) Neat job, I love it. Get sick of the air show type mustangs, anyone with half a brain knows what they looked like when they were being used for what they were designed for...scruffy, oil streaks and not a drop of chrome. Even the clever names painted on looked like they were done by schoolboys... Agreed. So hard to find a decent "used and abused" paint scheme for many aircraft. Was looking specifically for the A2A mustang but the only ones that came close were below average quality.

QUOTE (hoki1185 @ Jun 3 2014,9:53 PM) Remember doing a few circuits in my gumboots back in the 90s in Hoki in a Cherokee CEQ.Given that, I thought it a more docile beast than the Warrior and Tomahawk that I completed my PPL in. QUOTE (ardypilot @ Jun 3 2014,12:20 PM) Still not quite following- I've never owned Global, just FTX NZSI and NZNI. If you could post a screen capture of the renaming process, and results- that would be helpful! hope this will help.

QUOTE (emfrat @ May 31 2014,5:00 PM) For me, 'Lightning' means the EE one, and anything else is a pale imitation, even the P-38 which was a mighty beast. My high school years were spent in Dundee, about 6nm north of RAF Leuchars, so we heard these regularly, and on BoB Day we saw them in action at the airshow. You probably know R-R never quoted horsepower for their cars, just said it was "adequate" ; much the same applied to the Lightning - rate-of-climb was just stated as 'in excess of 50,000 ft/min'... So there was just this tiny plane on the runway making...

The Coast trip is always a goodie, looking forward to do some paints, the painting of this one one is so simplistic.

Whew, almost didn't get this done. Just got back from Nelson and rushed into the simpit to find I had no NZ paints for my installed aircraft. Found I as unable to install the ATR Air NZ paint for some reason (despite many attempts) - Panic, panic, panic!! A quick search on line helped me to find this. Ok, you may not recognise the aircraft from this shot but at least you must recognise the airport. /smile.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :) border= 0 alt= smile.gif /> Thomas Ruth's freeware A330-200 landing at Wellington airport.
