All great shots. The Turkish Air Force one looks quite spectacular in that scheme. But then again, I'm showing my bias towards Herks. I like that the Royal Norwegian Air Force gave theirs names of Norse Gods.

FSLTL will do the job well in 2020. It will replace 99.9% of the silly MSFS default AI models with realistic (and localised) aircraft. They start up, taxi, take off, land ... all quite realistically. The only problem is the incorrect way MSFS implements wind conditions, so any AI (default or FSLTL) often use the wrong runway. I don't think this has been sorted in 2024 either.

Ahhh yes, the old Epex tanker and trailer, no hydrant points at Wigram. I hated that thing, its screaming engine, and crash gearbox. In all my time there, I think I only got that bastard thing into 3rd gear once. Re Bulking it( replacing pumped fuel) was nice on a good day, you could lay in the sun with one hand in the top tank hatch...when you felt fuel on your finger tips...push the dead man switch. It was however the worst job early in the morning mid winter. More memories coming in .... I remember being duty refueler at Whenuapai ...arrive at work at 1700hrs and going through until 0700,...

Wonder if they would ever tackle the LES DC3? Admittedly they mainly do MSFS planes....but imagine flying AMY or the Mount Cook livery in XP12 ;)

Only the French could design an aircraft that looks like that! Me? I'm more of a PZL Wilga person! :ph43r: :ph43r: :ph43r: Yup, the French have an eye for design for sure! I like the Wilga, has that ‘awkward’ look like the old Storch. Fantastic STOL eating though!

Ruby rings a bell  I guess sooner or later I will fall off the Wanaka map, but this part of the world is well endowed with FS spots, which just roll on and on... It started with a little freeware helipad at Homers Tunnel. Alas one of the updates or NZA addons ate it and it sat up the mountain. Definitely a straight through the mountain requirement so in the bin. The fallback is probably better in fact. How to pick a route? There is so much rugged terrain to explore, ah well just go west a little Down the road from Milford Sound I came across this little bush strip: Hollyford Track...

:hesaid: For a moment I thought you'd set fire to your Photoshop folder to produce this, but No! Park it in the Scrapyard Hangar, willya? *Cautionary Note for the off-the-beaten-track Inquisitive: stay away from the Dune thing in SF20, it will eat your sim in strange ways*

I had thought I had all the updates and patches and payware for Auckland, so went looking for this dreadful mistake. In the end I resorted to the most maneuverable helo in the hangar, so as to get close enough to the colonnade. If you look REALLY, REALLY carefully, you can see the ghostly outline of the script, I can assure you all it is 100% authentic, except for the typo. I'm not sure the real thing isn't full of typos too, I have never read this War Propaganda in a quarter century of visits to our fine museum! Poor MSFS 2024, trying to "improve" everything. They have shot...

Oh! and as we speak, that stalwart of previous sims makes it's entry here: Though I've tried hard to stay loyal to REX, I've always found ActiveSky a much better product. I've just installed the latest ActiveSky beta (in MSFS 2024). Works well - and produces some nice and subtle mist effects:
