Thanks for looking Doug...consider yourself part of that formation. Doug, which part of the county did those fights happen ? Around the Nelson area, the Nelson Aero Club had 2 Tiger Moth's ZK-AQA and ZK-AYE they are the two that I flew many hours in.

Thanks for the encouragement, folks! It's too easy to focus on all the bugs in MSFS (many still not solved), but the eye candy has slowly but steadily improved. Either that, or optimisation has allowed you to use higher settings. You only need to be away from it for a few weeks to appreciate how gorgeous MSFS 2024 *can* look. If only it wasn't such a PITA to use!! ;)

Nice, keep 'em coming. So far I can't quite yet see the quantum leap that we had in, say, FSX to MSFS2020

If it weren’t for the POI flags, that screen of the lake with the “Wānaka tree” could be a photo. Great stuff from NZA again.

Kearby flew 3 P-47's while in New Guinea. The one depicted here was his first, 42-8145. This aircraft was lost on22 October 1943, while being flown by Lt Ernest Ness. He was captured and executed unfortunately. The second one, also called Fiery Ginger, was 42-75908, which he flew for only a short period, also with the blue tail tip of the 342nd Squadron. The third, confusingly called Fiery Ginger IV, (maybe he flew a first Fiery Ginger while training in the US), was 42-22668, and that had the three stripes in the three squadron colors of the 348th FG that you mean. This was his final...
