QUOTE (JNicol @ Feb 18 2011, 03:20 PM) That is an unfortunate misconception and something that I will take on board. The software is being used primarily for simulation by us and by our customers. You can have a look at the website under Products/Case Studies to see a couple of examples that I have written up. That hasn't changed and has in fact become a lot stronger with some of the features we have built including multi-channel and rapid virtual cockpit generation. The visualization side is useful as well for things like command and control systems. I liken that aspect of it to...

This is also one of my favorite aircraft! The FSX package is simply awesome in my opinion. The 3D (actually rendered in 3D) is very hard to beat. Plus, this aircraft has a stall speed of 40 knots! I have written a full review in the next Computer Pilot Magazine if anyone here reads/subscribes. Certainly worth looking at if you like island hopping, STOL style operations or bush flying. I'd imagine it would be quite a versatile aircraft for some flight ops in New Zealand!

QUOTE (Splitpin @ Feb 17 2011, 03:37 PM) Yep....JK has zillions of repaints, just amazing...i only found it by "googleing".......do you know of any other RNZAF paints for the WBS 51 Nakiman? Jan seems to hide his talents somewhat. Far too modest, I reckon. Either that or he likes to keep a low profile or he'd be inundated with requests from people like us ;-) EDIT: Naki's just posted a whole raft of repaints for me to add to the NZFSIM site (thanks, Naki) ... can't remember what was on there, but I'll soon find out!

Zk-TNR (WB566) was the chippie at Wanaka '94 on the Sunday, was front and centre in front of the gold stand at the fence taking some shots when it hit the ground, got one a second after impact with the dust up, no slide just straight pancake stop. Very sad.

QUOTE (Splitpin @ Feb 13 2011, 10:43 PM) Fair comment Andrew...i think i read on the website that a sound upgrade of some sort is coming, so maybe it will include accurate internals. Oh bother, up till now I've always been 'hearing' those sounds /blink.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= border= 0 alt= blink.gif /> and so just now had to go and take a quick flight around Wellington. You're right, it has been my imagination supplying the missing sounds!! The trouble is now I'm aware that they are not there and it's annoying me! I'll...

QUOTE (AlisterC @ Feb 12 2011, 03:25 PM) You've inspired me to go and have a look at the Warbirdsim website (I'm a big P51D fan). I see that all their models supplied in the P51D package are restored aircraft, rather than battlefield warriors - hence the nice new look to them. This looks like a great aircraft. Pity I've just spent all my spare cash on a bit of a computer hardware upgrade /winkyy.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= ;) border= 0 alt= winkyy.gif /> I'll just have to stick to staring at my 1:32 scale model here on my desk /laugh.gif style=...

QUOTE (Olderndirt @ Feb 12 2011, 03:46 AM) What a great way to go cross country. Your scenario caused a flashback, common at my age, of an event when I was with the FAA. Back in the seventies, an F4 was going to Fairbanks - out of Anchorage (263 nm) with no speed restriction - must have run out of something at the 'O' club. At handoff to Center the target was strobing. He went block to block (engines running to shutdown) in 23 minutes. Not too shabby for those days. That's pretty quick! But with an experienced pilot I can believe it. I wasn't watching the clock...

QUOTE (Adamski @ Feb 11 2011, 01:23 PM) What are the *systems* like ... I mean how complex/functional is the MCDU, for instance. I don't know. I don't use them. I just takeoff and land. /biggrin.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :D border= 0 alt= biggrin.gif /> I think the systems are all the same as all the other CLS addons.
