Wow Adam that one made me blink - it belongs on the masthead for the whole month, so much to see! It gets a week only ;) then back to the random banners. I'm using GSX a lot now - and have to say I'm amazed at how much detail they cram into all their systems & animations. I often sit there and do the whole works, catering, icing etc. before the usual boarding and refuelling etc.

Yeah awesome news Dan that the Metroliner is still an active project. For the kiwi sim nut this will be a great result when it comes out, a real hole in the market at the moment. Looking forward to it /thumbup1.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= border= 0 alt= thumbup1.gif />

QUOTE (s0cks @ Jun 2 2010, 01:41 PM) Debating buying the PNW FTX scenery. AU Blue is great but there isn't much to see as a lot of it is quite flat. The PNW covers an area larger than even the whole of NZ so I'm guessing it would provide many hours of bush flying enjoyment. Really tempted by the full PNW scenery with the Mountains etc....as per yourself I have never been tempted that much with the Aussie scenery as the distances are so vast and the country so flat. Great shots BTW

QUOTE (s0cks @ Jun 2 2010, 01:52 PM) In the first shot, you have that bright glare off of the rudder. Is this photo editing or can this be done in real-time? I have ENBseries but I never get any huge glare like that, although I see it in videos and screenshots quite often. sOcks, in FSX there is a check box for "bloom" or light bloom....just tick it and you get that effect. The rest is lense flare . I dont add any lighting effects to my screens....just crop them and maybe take the colour down a bit. Thanks for looking .... Cheers Marty

QUOTE (s0cks @ Jun 1 2010, 06:05 PM) The second pic looks like a flying boat. What is that ugly, yet intriguing machine? This is very famous in its own right ... Accusim it ... O'BOY are you in for some fun and with New Zealands short distances its superb !

QUOTE (s0cks @ Jun 1 2010, 04:22 PM) New Zealand really is the most diverse and fantastic country to fly in. So many different landscapes on such a small land mass. QUOTE (toprob @ May 27 2010, 12:36 PM) No matter how realistic the scenery is getting, it only really comes together with the HDR mod, which overcomes the computery look of FSX. It ain't perfect, but it is another very positive step towards real. Funnily enough my FSX crashed the other day when I hit the ; key to save my flight. Checked the logs and it was the d3d9.dll that caused the crash (the HDR mod). Bit of a shame as I had been flying for hours without issue. Just be warned that this might happen to anyone else who uses it.

Yes, REX with the settings on standard, waiting for a new computer before changing to the higher resolution clouds. Flying with real weather seems to bring out the best in REX, great results again. Bit of a rain shower over Wanaka airport in the first photo. Mt. Iron was well below!! Smooth landings
