Nothing like an F-4 to quicken the pulse. Despite its less flattering nicknames of Double Ugly and Rhino, it was a great aircraft. The Turks refer to theirs as Terminators..a more apt title.

This morning before work I (actually the Copilot) took Concorde on a simple AKL to CHC flight, which was interesting. The waypoints looked ok, I reduced the cruise height down to 30,000 from its preferred 53,000 , arranged the weather etc and let the AI thing loose. Flight Simulator 4 already had Hawaii and the Caribbean islands as the first add-ons, I suspect. Back then, you still had to have a lot of imagination. The Short 3-30 and 3-60 are really high typical watch shops. In contrast, the Embraer 110 and the DHC 7, which I also use, are more modern. But on the other hand, they are as much “airplane as I need”, although I have Boeing and Airbus planes here too, I no longer have the ambition to use them.
