I’ve never really warmed to the Optica. Very practical as an observation platform, but being a traditionalist it just looks too odd.

JK, I always pictured you being in Europe....you're an outback fella? deep in my heart... No, I'm a European, living in Belgium, the Netherlands and Sweden, but I'm also a geologist working for a university, and over the past 35+ years I've done fieldwork in many locations, mainly in Europe, but I've also spent many of our summers/their winters in Australia as well, including many trips to the Pilbara, usually in a ~150 km radius around Marble Bar. I must have driven 1000's of km's there, on- and off road. In the second picture you see the town of Marble Bar in the background, but the...

Thanks for looking gents. The shot is a bit rough around the edges...I've got Photoshop up and running again, and re-learning all the functions. I love the F-4 as well, in all its variations. Amazing how many nations operated them ....thanks again.

Nothing like an F-4 to quicken the pulse. Despite its less flattering nicknames of Double Ugly and Rhino, it was a great aircraft. The Turks refer to theirs as Terminators..a more apt title.

Thanks for the reply Mike. I agree, the tutorials are well done. I got a bit confused with a couple as I was reading the mobile version...didn't know you could fly it on your phone. This morning before work I (actually the Copilot) took Concorde on a simple AKL to CHC flight, which was interesting. The waypoints looked ok, I reduced the cruise height down to 30,000 from its preferred 53,000 , arranged the weather etc and let the AI thing loose. Start point was on the selected runway in AKL, destination runway was auto selected. Take off seemed ok, nice right-hand turn and clean up .... but a...

Flight Simulator 4 already had Hawaii and the Caribbean islands as the first add-ons, I suspect. Back then, you still had to have a lot of imagination. The Short 3-30 and 3-60 are really high typical watch shops. In contrast, the Embraer 110 and the DHC 7, which I also use, are more modern. But on the other hand, they are as much “airplane as I need”, although I have Boeing and Airbus planes here too, I no longer have the ambition to use them. The only aircraft of this type that will see more use is the Boeing 757-200, which is being worked on. Then I installed the Airbus A 310, but haven't...
