QUOTE One has to be careful, not to be too precise about positioning, otherwise things look contrived. Yeah, unfortunately that is quite apparent in the above screenshots. I just read and replied to your post in the CAP thread and will send you through the .frc now.

That stick looks ace. Might get it actually. I currently own a very simple Saitek ST90. Was only £12 but its built like a brick and has me firmly in the Saitek camp when it comes to sticks! I've never owned a force-feedback stick either and TBH its not a priority. I just REALLY want a stick that has a throttle lever, lots of customizable buttons and a POV hat switch for all those VC moments! :)

QUOTE (happytraveller @ Jan 17 2008, 01:05 AM) Don't get too excited!!! Even with a new high spec laptop, it still struggles with FSX and I have had to put the settings well back to get frame rates of around 12-14fps. I have even got the autogen on medium which loses out on a lot of FSX features (which will not show unless the autogen is set to high). I am wondering how well the computer will cope when I start to add in add-ons and detailed clouds/textures. Don't throw out your FS9 yet!! smooth landings. 2.2 Ghz Dual core 4GB RAM Nvidia 8600GT graphics...

QUOTE (Alex @ Jan 14 2008, 07:17 PM) Err, I did, in the Govt Gardens. ;) Seeing as this was a 'sightseeing' flight, I preferred to keep looking outside the cockpit instead of inside. Horribly unrealistic surely, but it's what I do... Alex Y'know, Alex is being very coy about showing us the inside of this helicopter. I wonder if he doesn't get on with the crewmembers , or is there perhaps some truly sinister reason behind all this reticence??? A full sickbag :o perhaps???

QUOTE Trolly, camera is just done with F1View, mousing around, and then cropping. I have 1900x1200 pixels or so, so can lose a lot without sacrificing quality. Good stuff- I use F1 in conjunction with the recorder module custom views to get simular results, but I only have a 1024x768 canvas to work with ;)

More on gliding at Simnewz.com The Duo Discus comes with VET macro which allows a simulated winch launch (" Simulated " Hmm - in a flight simulator??) Zooms you up, you can set the release height, gives a nice thunk when towrope is released At abovementioned website, there is also CSS which does thermals, looks interesting.

The screenshots were taken near Rotorua (RealNZ Scenery) and with Christian's 20m mesh & landclass installed. I have installed SP1, but I am waiting to see what the general view is about installing SP2. Frame rates seem better with much lower autogen (as normal) and with road traffic also reduced a lot. Many more view options with FSX which make getting screenshots much easier. You can still toggle through the views using the 'S' key as with FS9, but also toggle through several extra views using the 'A' key. I have not found a way to assign a key to the...

Thanks to all for spotting the building!! Turns out that the FSX patch had installed a complete folder named FSX so the files were 'hidden' in separate folder, rather than overwritten. I have extracted the files, and put them in the right places, so now there is no huge building and also a heap of new things (like seats) showing up. Thanks for the tips!! Still trying to find the setting to de-select the additional aircraft registration though. Here are a few more screenshots showing the corrected installation (the first one is a definite favourite):- Smooth...

QUOTE (Cbris @ Jan 3 2008, 06:27 PM) Thanks for the HU Naki! So D 8084 Flew at "Wings over Wairapea"? There's one NZ Paint I have done for you already... Actually, I found out from Rob Bruce, that the D8084 paint that I did was LAETR than his and not before, as I mistakenly put in my readme. Apparently D8084 "S" was based on Sicily. Perhaps hence S for Sicily? Thanks too for the colour photos - I can recogise now, that it isn't a yellow paint stripe around the nose - it's a (brass?) metal ring - I can do metallic for the next repaint. Light...

QUOTE (Charl @ Jan 7 2008, 10:41 PM) Good looking paints, certainly. Weird to see snow when it's 28 degrees C eoutside! That Stars 'n Stripes one part of this upload? Rather liked the look of it... All separate links - the Mustangs: "Breaking Up" "Wild Horses" "Oktoberfest" The Biffs: "D8084 - Sicily" "Peruvian" Oh, in "Stars and Stripes" were you referring to the paint I did for the Shockwave Mustang? Get that one here: "Only in America"

QUOTE (Alex @ Jan 3 2008, 06:57 AM) Awesome pics Mentor, a bit of an unusual place to see a Qantas flight methinks, but desert is desert right? :) Alex Indeed an unusual place to fly a Qantas. I just picked a random airport and closed FSX down after I did that departure. It was 1:30AM in the morning!
