Settings

A place to converse about the general aspects of flight simulation in New Zealand

Below are the current settings of my Fs9. Are these ok or should they be altered.

As you can see I run the Red Baron Real NZ and have the other 4CD's to enter as well as some other downloads. Is there any preference to the order they are in once all loaded, or do I have to re assign them for each flight depending on my departure point. Cheers.

On your scenery order list, I would put the 'Addon Scenery', 'Propeller Objects', and 'Vehicle Libraries' as a lower priority than your RealNZ or RBE scenery. Mostly the rest is up to your personal preference for performance vs. display quality. winkyy.gif

The Global max texture size really needs to be set to the highest setting for Real NZ scenery.

I also see that you have the display resolution to 800x600x32.

Change this to whatever your current desktop display is (unless it actually is 800x600, which isn't used by many people anymore), mine is 1280x800x32.
I found that when it was set to 800x600032 for me, the graphics didn't look all that good, it was much better when I switched it.

Just keep tweaking the other things until you are entirely happy; I also don't have 'label user aircraft' checked on mine, but as Alex said, it's mainly down to personal preference smile.gif

Thanks guys. Made a big diff. Just now need to get the buildings trees etc to look as though they are not floating about 2fet off the ground. Also one more. How do I open a ZIP file to install. When I click to open I get many lines of stuff with ???kb after it and do not know which one to install and where to put it. I want to add some tree and other stuff I think would be nice. Looking at the NZ AI stff etc as well. Thanks for your help in advance.

If you're just using the general windows zip program, just right click on the file, and 'extract all'

Thanks. We are getting there. I opened my Doc folder and selected a zip file. Right click gave me a box. In was OPEN and 7ZIP. I used 7Zip. Click this and got another box. Extract and extract here.
Using extract I got another folder with same title but not a zip folder. Using extract here I got another folder same tiltle but added texture etc for the A/C i'm opening. Where to from now. I said I was NOT computer savy. Have done what was mentioned so far and alls good. made a big difference. Also went through the tips aboutmaximising settings etc, managed that ok, so it is sinking in slowly. Thanks for your patience. plane.gif
