Heh, nice one Alister. Looked like a pesky FedEx MD11? The mail must get through you know laugh.gif
My incident didnt put me off the experience, despite the discussion about the difference between each of the builds and the exterior visuals being FS9, I'd totally recommend one of these sessions to anyone on this forum, whether you're tube-liner jock or not. Mucking about with the panel and aircraft config was as much fun as actually flying the thing thumbup1.gif

BTW, here's my blog post about the session I had in Hamilton should anyone have missed it...

Cool Dean!! I had a quick read of your blog entry and ended up watching a few knarly approaches into Paro as a result!!

The one thing that really detracted from my flight in the FE sim was that the visuals seemed to be slightly cocked to the right......... on takeoff and landing it always felt like the aircraft was pointing in the wrong direction!! I learned to compensate for it after awhile and was told it's because the visuals are slightly skewed towards the 'instructors' seat.... despite that it was still a lot of fun!!

PS - Its not nice of the Airbus autopilot to call the pilots "RETARDS"........... it must've been programmed by a Boeing fan - or maybe he's just commentating on the pilots flying skills........... wink.gif

That little problem with the view is because essentially the sim view is like a widescreen monitor. It feels weird no matter what side you sit. The centre of the screen is 'straight' ahead. But, you are sitting a couple of feet to the left of centre. So it feels a bit weird first time. Driving a car you sit right of centre, yet you look straight ahead, this is what we are used to. That doesn't apply in the sim due to it's design, but you fly your home computer with the view straight in front of you.. The computer guys fixed that however in later updates by using software to move the 'centre' of the view further left to suit the customer. The instructor view was completely screwed then lol. As I said, talented bunch of programmers winkyy.gif
