Admin!

A place to converse about the general aspects of flight simulation in New Zealand

Postby Naki » Tue Nov 09, 2010 11:42 am

Hi Guys and Gals

I wish I could take up all the slack with Robin relinquishing his admin role but I really don't have a lot of time with three young kids, kids sports, work etc.

I will continue my role as I am currently doing (ie member approval, modding etc) but I need someone else to take up some other roles as an Admin especially (and mainly) the screenshot comp - which I think is an essential part of community - so I need some volunteers! Please PM me if you are interested.

Cheers

It is possible to set up the screenshot comp so that a normal member can run it, although a moderator would at least be able to keep the thread tidy. I'm happy to let a replacement know how I manage it at the moment -- so don't worry, full instructions will be given:)

Thanks Ian and Dean I have put my hand up to do the screenshot comp but if I get the job I will need some tutoring as I have not had any experience working with web pages or progaming.
I do spend a lot of time logged into the forum sitting in the background and read all the posts.
And yes as Ian has said I have been working quietly in the background to get those files pirated from Rob off some of the web sites took a bit of flack from one administrator but did get the files removed in the end.

I wasn't aware of that, I did kind of drop out of this so that there wouldn't be any further repercussions for anyone tied up with me, and was very surprised that these files where removed, now I know why!
I'm touched, actually. Thanks Doug.

Your welcome Rob I knew that you had been having a real battle over this so didn't want to bother you with what I was doing the only one that was in the know was Ian I forward on the emails after I had got started on it just to let someone else in the forum know what I was doing.
These B*****DS that pirate other peoples software and then give it away as their own really P**S me off they are nothing but low life scum and they get me real angry.gif so Yeah OK enough said.

I've been reading all the threads about what is going on and I have to say I am glad, but not suprised at the support from everybody over what has been going on. Robin has done a great job throughout, of that there is no doubt. Thanks Doug for stepping up to the plate. I would like to be able to offer more, but unfortunately my job sees me away from home regularly, normally without internet, so I couldn't give the time required.
Through the wonderful people we have on this site, it will survive and will prosper. Those who dare to threaten our good intentions will never succeed.

Hi Gutys and Gals,

Thanks for those that put their hand up to help me and Nick....I have made Doug and Kade moderators of the screenshot area so they can cojointly run the screenshot comp. I will make some further changes later in the admin/mod area but this should be okay for now. So please welcome Doug and Kade as new moderators (opposite ends of the age spectrum!) smile.gif

As you can see Doug already has made a contribution and got the November screen shot comp underway, so please suppsort the comp and get your screenies underway! pirate.gif

We also have plans to reintroduce prizes in the screenshot comp but first we have to pester some add on companies...so watch this space!

Cheeers
