Spoons, TrackIR is excellent, I find it much better for GA stuff though when you're sight-seeing, and less good for VC work in a busy airliner.

I can't comment on the VRinsight products but Track IR is a good product in that it does what it says it does.
Having said that I hardly use it. I find the limitations of flying in a VC environment very limiting...try operating autopilots and switching comm frequencies etc.
It is also another peripheral to have to plug in, start and set up. It is however good for those circling approaches (so as to keep the runway in sight) and for the landing phase.
It would be good for combat simulations and VFR GA type flying. I thought that it would be good for helicopter flying but I find the lack of a fixed reference makes it worse and once again it has to be flown in VC mode whereby most swtiches etc dont work.

Remember the 50-50-90 rule. Anytime you have a 50-50 chance of getting something right, there's a 90% probability you'll get it wrong!

I found it useful specific in the autogen build , course have the AW109 , biggest thing is after a heavy concussion it causes sickness , almost like motion sickness but i would highly recommend .

I did a review if Track IR4 back in 2008 on ARNZX site www.flightsimx.co.nz check out reviews page. IR5 is effectively the same with different stand I believe. I'm still running TRI 4 using TIR 5 Software and I rate it very highly, I think it's better than a second screen. As noted more for VFR than IFR I must agree. Can use it in any screen you can pan in.

Cheers Paul

Takeoff's are optional. Landings are mandatory.
