Is there an X-Plane section on this forum? And can i post NZ scenery for X-Plane here?

There is no dedicated section for X-plane or P3D, FS9 and FSX has 'Post Icon' only ... be something to put forward to admin at there next meeting.

Most of NZFF is non-sim-specific -- you can post about X-plane scenery in the Scenery subforum, for instance, or X-plane aircraft in 'Aircraft'.

I think that Ian is just referring to the emoticons which you can use on your post, but it isn't necessary to use this -- probably 1 in 20 topics use it.
There is no specific forum for FSX, FS2004, or X-plane, but there are specific sub-forums for scenery, aircraft, flights etc. So just choose the appropriate sub-forum and post there.

Exactly , Its good to keep all screens together for example , makes it so much easy to compare , those little square box's to tick .... keeps everyone in the community ------the best examples of screens between FS9 and FSX , the newbie P3D and Xplane as just a tick to post and compare .

Charl .. one author of so many sublime screens for FS9 it is so hard or least to see the difference between the two programs - his work is better than many FSX works which is Great , keeps everyone interested and so easy to compare rather dancing across to another thread.

Use those little box's more often and everyone is in the loop, nice thing is it keep it a close nit community hoping people might try a go at equaling the posted screen.

Was there not some discussion of this last year? I think it started in the Screenshot Comp forum, and the rules were revised to allow shots from P3D and X-Plane. At the time, it was not thought necessary to make new Post Icons for those sims, although one forum had its name changed to"All Flight Sims".
Soon after that, there was a huge increase in the amount of X-P addons available, and a similar increase on the P3D side - so maybe it is now time for a couple of new Post Icons, since both those sims now have a greatly increased following.

Yes, when the forum was first started, the intention was to keep away from sim-specific sub-forums. When FSX was in beta, there was a lot of discussion about it everywhere, and some members didn't want that cluttering up the forums, so FSX ended up with its own sub-forum, but now that sub-forum has been renamed to cater for any uppity newfangled sims which might annoy some of the more, ahem, traditional members. Like Prepar3D before it went mainstream.

However X-plane has always been mainstream, so it doesn't need a separate sub-forum.

X-plane maybe more inviting , mainstream - I think looking at the the huge amount of uploads to flightsim.com , this is a mainstream product - FS9/FSX is not dying , hells i check all the Flight Unlimited , all the Flight and all the Fly .. mainstream currently its going thru a change very similar to the period dating back to the mid 1990s , the word mainstream is a protection or least trying to keep people happy .. Nothing wrong with competition .

P3D has its good points .. me looking at I recall the days of FS5 .. so far we have had P3D 1.4 .. update to 2.2.2 why simply don't release a complete package, it gets so messy , X-Plane is a relative new comer , been out for a while but since Microsoft has walk away , that was still the strongest sim ..

Little word X-plane , course Lockheed Martin , both have the good points so guessing ... all you need is tags for posting - as I said earlier tonight , JUST NEED SICOMES and away you go .

By the way You combat flight sim dudes, this may also have to be brought out too! ... cant leave you behind !
