This is the future of computing according to Microsoft. Interesting. Sort of Rift meets Google glass.

Remember the 50-50-90 rule. Anytime you have a 50-50 chance of getting something right, there's a 90% probability you'll get it wrong!

Yes, very different market to Rift and GG, but probably more interesting to people like me. (Not that I wouldn't love a Rift, but that's just for gaming....)
The only thing which annoyed me about this announcement is that Microsoft have used the term 'hologram' as if it is up for grabs, which probably means that they know that we won't get real holograms in the immediate future -- dammit, that's something I've always wanted. I remember going to the hologram exhibition here yonks ago, and being blown away, especially by the hologram of the microscope which you could actually look through, and see what was on the slide.

RIP, holograms, but bring on the hololens!

Rob - a couple of years back our Coles supermarket chain tried to register "Organic" as one of their in-house brands. Fortunately the application failed. Mebbe MS has been able to register "hologram" , for the same sort of deceitful purpose. angry.gif

'Propliner' is actually short for 'Proper airliner, with big rumbly radials'

I was looking around Bris-bunn thisarv for something different for lunch..one place was offering a six-pack of octopus balls. They were about 30mm in diameter...that didn't seem to add up, so I bought something else. biggrin.gif
