ILS?

how often do real world pilots use ILS and autoland, or do they prefer manual landing.

Personally I like to maintain my flying skills.
Last night was a beautiful night in Christchurch so I disconnected everything at 3000ft and hand flew the whole ILS. Into Auckland it was a 400ft foot cloud base and I disconnected at 1000ft once the aircraft was fully configured. I was flying a B733 which is really nice to hand fly.
I have flown with guys who will engage the autopilot asap after take off and autoland in Cat 1 minima. Just depends on the night and how awake you are

Last autoland was last week but just for currency as the aircraft hadn't done one for a while.

interesting , Thank you for that , must try more manual approaches. Only one I do manually is Queenstown 05 because you have to . on xplane.
