Another Captain Sim sale - 5th July

A place to converse about the general aspects of flight simulation in New Zealand

Postby Adamski » Sun Jul 03, 2011 3:16 pm

Just got this by email:

"We are pleased to announce that exclusively at Captain Sim online store, from 00:00 to 23:59 05JUL2011 (UTC) everything is Euro 9.99! Visit us at: http://www.captainsim.com
Important: 24 hours only. At 23:59 05JUL2011(UTC) all prices are back to regular. All sales made during the sale event are equal to regular sales."

Euro to dollar is around 2:1 now, so that's around $18 winkyy.gif

At last, I can get the B-52 driver!

The Herc was the very first CS add-on I bought. It's an absolute classic. Not only does it look good, it *feels* good. If I had the choice of only one CS product, it'd have to be that one.

I have the 767 but find the LevelD one *slightly* better. I do like the CS 757 though!!

I have 707 Captain - CS have done a good job of recreating one of the finest airliners I ever flew. No glass cockpits in those days, and the early model B720 had RED instrument lighting to protect night vision.

Also own the Lockheed C130 - it is also true to the original aircraft.

I suppose it depends on what your pleasure is, and I am very happy with those two.

I've been reading a lot of comparisons lately as I have the LevelD and wanted to know how the CS compared. As I understand it the Level D functions correctly to the nth degree but is showing it's age visually, especially in the VC, while the CS is pretty but has functionality limits once you get into failures and unusual situations.

I fly with completely reliable planes so that's fine by me, in about a day and a half I'm gonna add the shiny pretty one to my collection :-)

I think you have it spot on there, Chairman. I actually have both - having originally bought the LevelD then was seduced last CS sale in getting theirs. There's really not that much in it. I think the LevelD FMC is slightly better, but my memory could be wrong!

Don't know where Adamski and Connor got that quote from, if you look at my post I quite clearly said a day and a half, not 10 hours icon_twisted.gif cool.gif

As J7G said it starts at midday on tuesday our time, it's a 5th of July sale not a 4th of July sale smile.gif

NZ time at the mo is UTC plus 12 hours, so your right chairman, sale starts Tuesday the 5th at midday in New Zealand.

I'm going for the 767, I hear the manual is good for a bit of light reading.

I made that post that included your quote about an hour after you made it. Looks like you edited your post some time after that winkyy.gif
