Hi Ian
Just for fsx to try out the GE view
This is the the information in the file before I added the new lines

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252" ?>
- <SimBase.Document Type="Launch" version="1,0">
<Descr>Launch</Descr>
<Filename>dll.xml</Filename>
<Disabled>False</Disabled>
<Launch.ManualLoad>False</Launch.ManualLoad>
- <Launch.Addon>
<Name>Object Placement Tool</Name>
<Disabled>True</Disabled>
<ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad>
<Path>..\Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK\SDK\Mission Creation Kit\object_placement.dll</Path>
</Launch.Addon>
- <Launch.Addon>
<Name>Traffic Toolbox</Name>
<Disabled>True</Disabled>
<ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad>
<Path>..\Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK\SDK\Environment Kit\Traffic Toolbox SDK\traffictoolbox.dll</Path>
</Launch.Addon>
- <Launch.Addon>
<Name>Visual Effects Tool</Name>
<Disabled>True</Disabled>
<ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad>
<Path>..\Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK\SDK\Environment Kit\Special Effects SDK\visualfxtool.dll</Path>
</Launch.Addon>
</SimBase.Document>

When I right cick on the file and go to edit I add the new info as copyed from the instructions
and when I re open the file I get this-

The XML page cannot be displayed

Now I can't access my fsx cfg. went thru this a month back after a win7 update. From memory there was two files and one could be accessed with the notepad and it worked. .... doing this for changing the false to true , going to have to look at this.

Where are you adding the text? It needs to go before the final tag -- so between the final </Launch.Addon> and </SimBase.Document>
Make sure you only view/edit it in Notepad (or a similar text editor.)

Hi Guys
I was adding the new entry at the end after </SimBase.Document> . Added the new info as instructed toprob and no worries all seems fine now thank you, does it matter if there are 2
</Launch.Addon>
- <Launch.Addon>
of these entries in a row

No, won't matter at all, soon as the minus symbol it cancels the read.

Presumably they are for 2 different addons.

The <Launch.Addon> tag opens the block, and the "code" goes in after it. Then the slash tag closes it indicating you've finished describing that Launch Addon
</Launch.Addon>

You can have as many as you want.

These are just open and close (/) tags for XML entries -- so what you are seeing is one entry closing, and then another opening. You can have as many Launch.Addon tags as you need, for each dll which requires registration in dll.xml, although definitely only one Simbase.Document...

You can run it from anywhere, easiest is just to drag it from the ZIP file onto your Desktop, then just click on it to run it. It will probably ask for some permissions (to run the Google Earth plugin etc)
I think if you just see a little rectangle, you probably haven't installed the plugin correctly, or you don't have FSX running at the time.
