Thanks for the welcome. 'Living legend' is a bit strong.... 'legend in his own lunchtime' might be more appropriate. But I'm clearly among friends.

Charl, sorry that your Hawks sound like starved Cessnas on steroids and that your Welsh commentary is of the Patagonian variety. You may be missing a file or two, for sure. For all that, my progressive compilation of files, although intended to be clearly organised for the potential downloader, are about as easy to decipher as a Mongolian with a harelip standing in an echo chamber. I do need to revisit the Reds. The animated four were the cream of the crop, so if I can shape those up into one comprehensive FS9 - or even, FSX - download, that might please The Great Unwashed. No VC, but there are one or two still who can live with that.

Charl, your screenie... is that my BN-2 paint? What sim? Why are the reflections dead as a dodo and the transparency gone? Forgive me if I'm missing something here.

And Peter Lohr, yes, PLEASE do not give up on Milford. I didn't point 1,400 DC-3 pilots at your scenery just to find that you've taken up tiddlywinks. Your Queenstown is GORGEOUS; do please continue with Milford.

That looks like one of his AI models from the GNZLAP. ;)

Uh yes...it's a Dee Waldron low-poly AI plane in FS9, more usually seen flying off in the distance.
Great compliment to be mistook for a Real Plane!
Mark your - MDC paint on Marcel's model is being worked on in the background in that shot.
This was co-incidentally a SS I had in an archive which just sort of popped into mind.
And it would be excellent to finally see 1 package for the Hawks, FS9 or no.
Imagine just pressing a single unzip button and then strapping on a Hawk 4!
Phwoar! I'd learn a bit o' Welsh for that.

Hi All,

Just want to give a quick intro. I'm Florian from Sydney Australia. Have been in OZ most of my life. Was born in Hamburg Germany.

Have been interested in Flight simming ever since a neighbour gave me a go of his FS2000. I still remember my first flight. I didn't know anything about how it all worked then and I remember flying a Learjet at about 50ft looking for an airport to land at

Now I'm an FS2004 user and am loving it...most of my flying is done in Europe and Oceania although I am prone to a long haul trip to the US or Asia every now and again :)

Happy landings! :plane:

Cheers

Hello Everyone... Garrick here.

Originally from Tauranga but now living in Wellington and working in the public sector.

I've always been interested in aviation. Have logged about 12 hours in a C172 but that was 10 years ago now. When I have the money I'll get back into it, but in the meatime I'm left to flying FSX and FS9 - not to complain though.

Favourite aircraft: B737 and C172

First flight sim experience: Chuck Yeager's Advanced Flight Trainer 2.0 - played on an AT ot 286 i think!!!!! (now's that's old school, heh)

Will definitely be getting into think multiplayer shortly - so you'll bound to see me flapping about as ZK-GAK at some stage.

Operating an AMD Athlon 64 3000+ 2.0Ghz processor, 1GB RAM, ATI Radeon 256meg AGP card. Systems about 3 years old now, so must upgrade to see the full benefits of FSX.

Happy flying...

Oh and any Wellingtonians wanting to grab a beer outside of the forums drop me a line - appears there is a few of us around.

Welcome to the forums Garrick :) - your comp specs look very much like mine. My early days of flight simming also included Chuck Yeager (and Falcon 3).

Mmm...286, that was the one with the crankhandle sticking out of the right hand side, right? Your timing is probably very good wrt FSX upgrade - SP1 will put it in the more affordable computing bracket too one hopes.
Welcome Garrick, hope you find interesting things here.
And hi Florian, glad you could stop in on the way to LAX! B-)

Hi all,

Started flightsim way back....... in 95'. Awesome how the game has evolved so much!

My name is Carl, & and I live in Christchurch. I have done the occasional bit of flying at the Aero Club, but pretty costly to do all the time. I have recently upgraded from FS2004 to FSX, which is really cool. Like to fly commercial jets around New Zealand.
