This post is simply to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the safe return of a remarkable man on his epic solo flight around the world in a tiny NZ-built Airtourer 115 (cruise: 100knots)
The [somewhat controversal] journey finished in Hamilton 40 years ago today (August 1 1969-2009) having taken approx. 10 weeks.
Although this was a remarkable achivement in itself, it was just the foretaste for well over 100 similar adventures for Cliff.
Congratulations to you Cliff Tait (a member of this forum) is still "flying" up to 30 hours a week on your FS2004.
His aeroplane, dubbed Miss Jacy, is currently housed outdoors at Motat (pix attached).
