The beautiful bird has been circulating Wangas all day.
I could bottle the engine sound smile.gif
Went out to the airport hoping for a shot or two and finished up with a free ride !!!
Can't get this ridiculously huge grin off my face.
Very friendly crew with Airbus captain in charge.
All welcome at the cockpit with the radials roaring away out the open side windows smile.gif

Interestingly, it is the DC3 I have been flying in FS9 lately smile.gif

Yep a very nice machine. Had the pleasure of flying ZK-BBJ in the right seat from Wellington to Christchurch back in the late 80's. Also went top dressing in the right seat of ZK-AWO out of Woodbourne in the early 80's. That was a ride and a half.
Man in charge wasn't Dave Horsburgh by any chance?

My goodness the topdressing would be interesting ninja.gif
Not sure the pilots name sorry.

The wind shifted across the main runway while we were up so he came in on the grass runway.
25knot wind, ground roll was very short it seemed smile.gif

couldn't get over the level of comfort and the room

I have been around long enough to be able to say I have had numerous flights in these (NAC) in the days when it was neither trendy
or even worth mentioning. In fact you either climbed onto one of these or you stayed home.

My lasting memory is of a "Stewardess" (non PC) managing to dump a full cup of quite hot coffee into what was soon to be my wedding tackle.

I was issued with a dry-cleaning ticket on the firm, but never really recovered from the trauma.

So you can imagine where my memory goes everytime someone goes all nostalgic over these relics..... laugh.gif
