Bet he has done that 100's of times before.

Normally pulling out at 5-10ft.

Got away with it for years. Ultimate extremist.

Total skill

Skid on the ground for the rotation, Deeknow yes that was awesome.

Wow - that guy sure knows how to work and eggbeater! ohmy.gif I read in the comments that it wasn't his chopper, but a rental... well, if you're gonna bust some kit, I suppose it might as well be someone else's! tongue.gif Glad to hear he was ok afterwards - does anyone know if he walked away or had any injuries? Bet he was kicking himself afterward, too. One small mis-step after 13,000 hours - crunch. sad.gif At least on the flight sim you can just press the ESC key...

A rental helicopter you say? One that is not approved for aerobatic flight? Surely not. So if it hadn't crashed some other poor pilot would have had to have flown an aircraft that may have been over stressed.
Its not 911 that they should have been ringing but the local FAA office should this be the case.
Remember the 50-50-90 rule. Anytime you have a 50-50 chance of getting something right, there's a 90% probability you'll get it wrong!
