I came across this site today (was an advert on the Facebook side panel), apologies if it's been discussed before:

http://flightprosim.com/

Flight sims seem to be popping up everywhere lately blink.gif

Anyone downloaded this?

It looks like (and has the same name as) a bit of software I had a look at a while ago. It's very FS2002 - more like X-Plane, in fact (accurate flight model, average graphics). The version I saw was 1 back I think, but from the screen shots on their web page it doesn't look like it's progressed far (in terms of eye-candy). I remember reading somewhere that it was recognised by the FAA in the US for some parts of pilot training, but the specifics escape me for now.

This is basically Flightgear, a free, open source sim. Take a look at the Flightgear site.

I agree that while this one is dated, that it's great how a bunch of enthusiasts have got together to make their own sim - give it heaps, I say! For me, though, I'd rather pay to have better eye-candy... biggrin.gif

The figures must show up somewhere the compares , the sim,s that have come and gone Fly 1 and 2 looked they had potential but faded as well , in a away shows the gripes people have with old Microsoft based product really have no founding , maybe they expected to much from their PCs .
