Well just wasted 1.30hrs of my day. Had my first flight since August and have now finally given up on it all. With sliders set no more than 50% and running IVAO and my CLS DC10 was lucky to get 5fps. Untill I can get around to affording my new computer ( unlikely as just bought a house ) this is the end of FS for me. Will keep looking at forum etc as still have the interest in aviation. Enjoyed my years here. Will be removing all from computer tomorrow. Keep a look out on TM as may sell off some of my FS9 payware stuff.
Cheers,
Adrian.

Herc, that sounds a bit harsh mate. I have a dinosaur that will just run FSX but recently I have resigned to the fact that FS9 does it all so much better on my machine, so I'll stay with that until such time I can upgrade. Surely you can run FS9 ok?
What sort of PC have you got - you are welcome to have a copy of my cfg file if you want to give it one last shot?

Hi Mat.
Thanks for the offer. I think it is more than the config file. I do not know my system as had it built more for wore related and to run FS9 if it can. It does but at 5 to 10FPS it is too jerky and slow on input commands. So very frustrated at present. That is why I stopped in August. Will talk to my computer guy next week and see if I can do any tweaks to system.
Cheer and will keep watching this space.
Adrian.

get as much ram as your pc will hold, do a defrag, get a program called " game booster " which shuts down everything that doesnt need to run behind FSX, and make sure your cloud draw distance is no more than 60miles . if you know how to get into your graphics card settings turn down some of the settings like anti-aliasing down to max of 2-4, or like in my case the graphics card has 3 presets,..fast, balanced, and quality,..i sewt mine to balanced which makes a large difference..
give it a go...

Herc.....i hate reading stuff like that

......
didnt frank sinatra sing something about this situation...."for what is a man?, what has he got?...without his sim...he has not".......a friend of mine has just upgraded from what was a reasonable system (also a simmer)...and is dumping his old puter....if you like, i can check what it has , and maybe( if compatable) send you the bits to keep you going.....

Splipin. Thanks but if not a complete box set up then no good as my system cannot accept any more upgrade to what is all ready in there.
Cheers,
Adrian.

In reply to Adrian's post.
The Game Boost programme looks like it has helped a bit. Ran yesterday with CLS DC10, Ivao etc as was running last. Ran smmother and things loaded qucker. Need to give another go soon to rearely compare but at this stage looks like may have solved some of the trouble. Still got FPS of around 9 to 13 so thats an improvement. Watch this space.
Cheers.

Ahh ok, just that I have a Socket 779 E8400 3.0ghz Core2 and a
Asus EN9800GTX+ 520meg Dark Knight (PCI-E) sitting on my shelf doing nothing, or is that nothing much. Thought I may be able to help you out a little on the upgrade economics front.
