Do any of you still use this in FSX?
Do you think it is worth reinstalling?
Or is there another AI out there?
Thanks
Derek
Hi Derek the free ORBX AI traffic covers NZ as well as Ausie http://fullterrain.com/product_traffic.html

Will reinstall. Forgot about WOAI, have most on disk. Thanks
Where do I get the prop fix Paul?
This program fixes a lot of FS9 and earlier props for FSX http://www.interkultur.de/gossmann/fsx/dow...lacer-Setup.zip

A lot of your schedules etc. may be well out of date by now ... may be an idea to check.

It's a bit of a killer, framerate wise, but I love slide shows anyway. What I *do* like is how easy it is just create AI flights with regular FSX aircraft ... so my NZWP and NZAR (not to say NZOH and NZWB) get RNZAF Hercs, B757, the Warbirds Dak, Catalina ... even the F4U Corsair puts in the odd appearance. Oh ... and I put in a smattering of my beloved Islanders and Tiger moths. All in full detail.
I have to admit I'm using woai and I think it is one of the greatest ongoing projects for FS. I also created flights with FSX aircraft, for various settings. For those of you who are running GNZLAP, WOAI and other fs9 traffic packages, I nearly finished an AFCAD for NZCH and NZRT that places traffic in the corect places and I have also placed some library objects at both airports as well, just hangars, fire stations, radar shack etc. I will post a new topic about it soon, with some screens. all who are interested can PM me and I'll keep you updated!
On the topic of AI, has anyone got a traffic package for Air Asia as they have recently entered the NZ scene, now flying into NZCH?Last edited by connor on Mon Feb 14, 2011 9:27 am, edited 1 time in total.

Heh. You're very welcome Adamski, I'm glad it'll come in useful. I've had a lot of help from these forums on all sorts of issues but have also had to muddle along and work things out for myself a fair bit, so I always try to give back any knowledge I've gained.
For my first few years of simming, it was just me alone in the sky (probably just as well given my standard of flying at the time) and I only really got interested in the idea of AI when Charl started releasing his NZ-specific stuff. Previously it had seemed too complex to mess with for little obvious benefit and a likely heavy hit on framerates, but I dived in and was immediately hooked. You know how it goes, first a few things for NZ (plus the UK in my case as well), then why not Australia too? Then, before you really know what happened, you've got the whole world...
WOAI can be a real pain to maintain (and I'm now doing everything twice, for FS9 and FSX), but I wouldn't be without it now as it adds so much. I often visit a place just so see what else is there and can spend hours watching the AI traffic go about its business. I've never felt the need to go down the payware route as the free options seem more comprehensive than any self-contained package, as long as you have the time to maintain it all of course.Adamski wrote:QUOTE (Adamski @ Feb 13 2011, 02:05 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>It's a bit of a killer, framerate wise, but I love slide shows anyway. Now that does sound interesting...I've never done very much with flightplans other than make edits to existing ones, but I could definitely have a lot of fun with that. I'm also after a Corsair for my hangar as I don't currently have one. I was thinking either the free Alpha Bleu Ciel or the AH or A2A payware ones. Which one is reckoned to be the best?
Thanks also for all your hard work putting together NZFSIM. I got some nice repaints from it for FS9 but it's really come into its own under FSX as I've been able to kit out many of the default aircraft in local colours as well as all my favourite add on planes. It's invaluable.

I spend eleven months of the year in the UK and one in NZ. I'm hoping to improve that... ;-)

Not sure about which F4U is the best - I only have the AF one.
Thanks for your comments about NZFSIM - I try to keep it updated - but I have to rely on repainters telling me when they release stuff ... or if someone spots an old one that ought to be in there.
There are some freeware utils (with nice GUIs) that are supposed to make creating flight plans using full FSX aircraft easy, but I could never persuade them to work - at least not with my "modded" airports (which is where I usually want to see customised traffic).
