Those little red numerals on the CDI's, and DG, in your third shot, would be a real boon as an option with FSX. My tired old eyes often have difficulty with the OBS - even with today's resolutions.

Great, I'll check that out - have their 182RG and Saratoga, two of my favorite cross country flyers.

I do. And the cool thing back then, was you could put any of those sims on a single 1.44MB Floppy disc and play them anywhere!

Very nice screenshots, Brendan! thumbup1.gif

They should remind us what simming is all about:
It's about imagination!

The funny thing is that - with just a little imagination - the locations of shot #2 (Meigs Field) and #3 (New York's Central Park) are clearly recognisable...

Cheers,
Markus.

I've still got all my old Computers from the Olden Days...(1970's)...

Apple IIe, Sinclair Z80, Z81, Spectrum 48K, Spectrum Plus, Commodore C16/C64, Amstrad CPC 64, Amiga 500/1200, etc, and tons of Software games, etc; Hardware, User Manuals, etc...etc...
...and not forgetting all my old Games Consoles!...Atari 2600, Megadrive, Amiga CD32, etc...

All filling up the spare Bedrooms in my house... ohmy.gif ....!

So much 8-bit joy must surely be illegal!!.... biggrin.gif ...!

It really is amazing, even comparing the recent? PC graphics for my Flight Unlimited I/II/III, Pro Pilot, Pro Pilot '99, Gunship, FLY!, FS '98, etc, etc; and my latest copies of FS 2000/2002/2004/FSX!... ohmy.gif ...!

I often run my old Computers and Games just to remind me how things have changed/improved? over the years...and how old I am now!... laugh.gif ...!

...but nothing beats the; "Old 8-bit stuff" for sheer fun...trust me!

Paul...Sinclair Spectrum 48K Addict!... (3DFX Voodoo!)....cool.gif ...!
Paul Fosbery.

3Dfx... that brings back memories... one of the coolest games back then was optimised for 3dfx cards... can't remember the name but it had something to do with dragons or dinosaurs... started with "T" I think. And then there were the cool Lara Croft Tombraider games smile.gif

Ahh a man after my own heart,

I am an avid* collector of flight sim stuff. I have MSFS back to FS2 (4 different flavors) as well as lots of other FS products, both civil and combat sims. I even have an old Mac just for run MSFS on smile.gif
In the collection I have my first sim, which was on the Spectravideo SV328, and was a B747 sim flying around Australasia.......

3DFX brings a smile to my face, I have a Voodoo3 in a box here, in the hopes that one day I'll put a PC together for running Pro-Pilot 98... which was sooooo much better than the Microsoft offering of the time. I have every sim made by SubLogic, and a good selection of their scenery products (USA East and West, plus a handfull of scenery discs).

The memories that this old stuff brings back for me are amazing!

Haha, Sir Clive Sinclair... yep, legend. I had (well, actually still have) a couple of ZX81's... loved them! I remember creating and playing all kinds of cool (in my mind) games on them ;-)
Oh, and don't make idle offers... I may be in your neighborhood one day, and you'd struggle to get rid of me! smile.gif
