Returning to FSX

I've been using FS2004 because my machine simply wasn't giving me the expected results when flying in FSX. I was getting around 3-7 FPS running my computer not on Turbocharged, when I turbocharged my CPU, (I changed the power plan), I had upto 10 - 30 FPS. But the problem with turbocharging is that I can't enjoy long flights because my computer get REALLY hot, and usually in Australia here it's about 30 Degrees C already.

Does anyone have any software or techniques they use to speed up there Video Card and CPU?

My PC's specification are:
Video Card - ATI Radeon Mobility 4530 512mb - Upto 1GB when turbocharged.
CPU - Intel Centrino 2, 2.13ghz
Windows Vista Home Premium
250gb HDD
4GB RAM

I overclock my graphics card GPU rather than the motherboard CPU - this doesn't seem to cause a large increase in temperature even on hot days. I also run GameBooster which shuts down unnecessary processes thus reduce the load on the CPU. Maybe this would be worthwhile investigating for you too.

There is a free/Trial version of GameBooster which allows you to use it with one specified application.

I was just searching round my computer and I found I already had game booster full version.

Can I have somemore information on Overclocking?

EDIT: That link might be a bit complicated, do you have Catalyst Control Centre installed?
Other than that I think your only option is to upgrade your computer

If your worried about high temps then install a half decent CPU heatsink and fan. There are dozens to choose from. The standard cpu coolers anrnt designed for high load gamming.

I'm making a guess, but from your specifications it appears the you are using a low-end Laptop, which is not really suitable for gaming, especially something like FSX... ....!

One thing I have never done, is run the risk of infringing the guarantees, and destroying any of my computers components by "over-clocking" them!
I either purchase, and up-grade the existing internal components in my Tower/Desktop computers, or purchase a complete, faster Desktop/Tower computer, which I had to do when changing from FS 2004 to FSX!

The average Laptop is not really suitable for serious gaming. For that you need a Desktop/Tower installation!

I suspect that your present (Laptop?) Computer runs FS 2004 quite satisfactorily....but not for FSX...For that you need a new Computer...(Cray Super-computer?)... ...!

For complete satisfaction and enjoyment, I still use my FS 2004, with all the settings maxed, rather than my FSX (with the settings wound down!), even on my new Computer!.... ....!
