Air New Zealand Virtual

A place to converse about the general aspects of flight simulation in New Zealand

Postby Jimmy » Thu Jun 29, 2006 4:31 pm

I am curently a Qantas virtual member but i'm getting a bit bored of flying just 737-300 on new zealand domestic routes.

I came across Air New Zealand virtual and I would like to join but the page for singing up was disabled so i sent an e-mail as it said to do so, but its been a few weeks and I have had no reply :(

I suppose whoever runs this VA is probably a member here so can I have an account please?

Thanks
James

Hi James,

I'll mention you in our forum mate.

Also, you may like to take a look at Virtual Pilots Association (link) . You can fly any scheduled or GA flight (even other VA's schedules) and log them with VPA. It's a worldwide community of very helpful and committed simmers.

Howdy,

Good Luck with your application, Jimmy.

I'm still waiting to hear back from vANZ (and it's closer to two years than a couple of weeks).

Reading the replies does not surprise me.

Seems like the Virtual Air New Zealand has a lot in common with the real Air New Zealand. Try get help from AirNZ ´Customer Services´!!!!

They lost my business because of low standards. So perhaps Virtual Aviation is just a reflection of real life........

Are you serious?

I think ANZ are a great airliner- much better than Guarda Indonesia and JAL anyway <_<

Hmmmm... <_<

I've not had a bad experience on Air NZ in real life (knock wood; I'm flying them all over the country in August). I love the fact that their 744s have an extra 2" of legroom (great for a 2m tall guy like me). And they always block off the seat next to me so I have a little more room to move. Seems like good customer service to me.

Never dealt with vANZ, so I don't know.

Ask omitchell as he is the so called CEO of VANZ ;)

Re AirNZ, on several occasions I have found their customer service to be useless, and the inflight service well behind airlines such as Singapore Airlines. I used to be loyal to AirNZ, but after so many bad experiences, including with their ´customer service´, I now opt for the better airlines.

So the virtual AirNZ may well be modelled on reality!!!

Smooth landings.

I have found ANZ's service to be very good. I'm flying again next week so may get a chance to try Origin Pacific's service if I end up going to Christchurch.

PS and O/T
Owen isn't a so called CEO Colin, he is the CEO. That remark was really out of context mate.

VANZ's applications page says it expects to be back online in April 2008 (6 months out of date) and the front page of the website says they've just uploaded their summer 07/08 schedules (1 year out of date). Not sure how you managed to email them, the contact us page is broken.

Sounds like a dead VA ...

Gidday Guys,

VANZ is still operating, we are having problems with server access issues at the moment and hoping to have it resolved in the near future - this is the reason for no new sign ups. If you would like you can drop me a note at whitei at paradise dot net dot nz and I will add you to the collection of people that want to join up.

Cheers
Ian White
