Looking for speedy single

A place to converse about the general aspects of flight simulation in New Zealand

Postby Sonnyj » Mon Jul 23, 2012 9:07 pm

Hi folks,

Looking for some help, ..What is a really fast single engine available with VC, retracts, turbo or not. I am flying a few IVAO tours VFR and want to scoot around fairly quickly ;-)

Any suggestions?

Cheers

And silly me , I meant to add I need a Auto Pilot and some nav aids so this eliminates a few fighter types. Cheers

The best would probably be the new Realair Lancair Legacy. I don't have it yet but it's getting rave reviews.

I have the Carenado f33 Bonanza and 210 but I much prefer flying my Baytower Rv7, which has speed, aerobatic and short field capabilities....has an autopilot too

Slightly faster and pressurized - the Lancair IV-P by Orbx.

The Lancair would fit the bill. The Carenado Piper Malibu would be a good choice too for a turboprop, it has an extremely comprehensive avionics setup.

Thanks Guys,

The RealAir Lancair is around $60 NZ a bit too much for me. I am looking at other Lancair models that hpoefully will have an excellent VC that will suit my set up. Some VC's just don't cut the mustard when spread over a couple of screens. Not that I am a perfectionist ;-) ;-),

The malibu sounds interesting also. Will keep installing/uninstalling until I find the most suitable. Best so far is Black Magic Lancair,l but the VC leaves a little to be desired, and it has some FS98 gauge issues, and see through panels on the cockpit. Goes OK tho.

Cheers

Piper Malibu 46T by Carenado is a good one. None others come to mind. Oh, PC-12X from Flight 1 perhaps (a little older now though).

The Carenado Mooney with the ORBX HD upgrade (exterior, interior) is a good choice too smile.gif I like the Mooney...hence my avatar... wink.gif

I've got the PC-12 and that's a nicely modeled but a bit dated FS9 ported to FSX and a bit pricy Flight 1

Other recommendations that I've got are Lion heart the Quest Kodak is great STOL plane but cruises at high speed and the other is the Epic LT / Dynasty both using the PT6 jet turbine LHC
Takeoff's are optional. Landings are mandatory.
