Hi all,

Just thought to show you all most of my texture work for the engine to date. I will keep adding to the album over time. But this stops me from creating too many threads. I welcome any comments/feedback.

My album of Outerra textures

Cheers,

Kelvin

Looking superb .. be now a small town placement rather the generic poled scapes we get with FS , no it a huge ask but would be very interesting to see smile.gif

Yes, would look fantastic. The Biomes, among other features are pending. There's a lot of work to get it right and the end result will surely make your jaw drop. The vector layer tech we know and love to allow roads, rivers, urban areas etc.. will be here in due course, it is then we will see Outerra at the level we have come to expect.

For now a few shots of NZ I took today after manipulating some textures to try and match our hilly landscape. If it looks like this now just imagine what the landscape will look like once the Biomes are done including the Blue Marble....not to mention climate data too. Then a B17 fortress flying above it all on a crisp Winter morning.

There are only two words to describe it "Bloody Brilliant" if all NZ was like that who would be silly enough to pay big money to hire a plane to go site seeing when you can get this on your PC.
Would love to see this done to work with FSX.

Surely not too far down the track Ian, given the commercial value in flight simulation and what Outerra can offer in terms of visuals it would be only a matter of time before it took off (pun intended).

@Doug - due to the many differences in technology used in Outerra I don't think it could be used in FSX, it's a different platform all together, but perhaps the model importing could provide a use when it comes to importing models from FSX later on assuming this does not go against any terms and conditions of use.
