What do people think of this? would it be worth it?

I've been using it for a while now, great if you have a multicore processor with hyper threading.

If you do get it I would be most interested to read of your experience with it.
In order to better assess the changes create and save a flight with exactly the same parameters (no weather or AI etc) and compare the before and after FPS and smoothness.
Remember the 50-50-90 rule. Anytime you have a 50-50 chance of getting something right, there's a 90% probability you'll get it wrong!

Probably does something similar to this: http://www.venetubo.com/fsx.html
Which you can do for free.

There is no magic solution to increasing FSX performance by a "significant" level short of buying new, faster hardware.

That is exactly it .. most solutions are adjusted by your own PC and setting performance ... some people post ridiculous frames turning many away from FSX or make it a competition

And then go to their local cinema and happily watch a movie filmed and run at 24 fps - Hollywood knows the human eye cannot detect a difference in anything displayed faster.

Ian - isn't he the chap who came third in a Charlie Chaplin lookalike comp?
I am sure that is true, because I think I read it in your Clearnet thread laugh.gif

HHmmm not exactly. Things like motion blur come into the equations as well. Compare the 24 versus 48 fps Hobbit movies as an example.

^^ Right on

And the current batch of video games are coming out aiming for 60fps (Battlefield 4 for example)
smile.gif
I run 60fps on FS9 and FSX, and let the game drag me down from there (all depends on weather, type of plane, complexity of airports etc)
Check this out, a nice little demo for higher frame rates.

http://frames-per-second.appspot.com/ (and note the Peter Jackson quote at the bottom of that page)
