given SP's C-130 -J/30 non NZ screens got me thinking and googlin.....

probably posted before (i do sit behind the 8 ball most days - it's a navy thing) BUT I reckon you gotta admit this is goddamned COOL COOL COOL

It is prity impressive flying , the Forrestals X4 units deck size is very much the same layout as the later Nimitz .. these the first of the super carrier . actually i did a plan conversion from Stefan Terzibaschitsch book "Aircraft Carriers of the US Navy .. still on the PC .. see if i can dig it up .

If thats to scale , it really was an amazing effort.

That is to scale both plan s C-130 from Martin W Bowmans book on the C130 .. so it was a feat in flying , the angle deck is around 670 ft long .. the Carrier would doing its full 33 kts , the Herc was half empty but still impressive bitta flying

i guess this, as our approach to suai was, would be termed "an aggressive approach"??

biggrin.gif I did have a ruffer .. nah maybe not .. good study off the wing flex when it hit the deck .. nothing special
