Hi all

I am interested in how to calculate such things as approach and departure speeds. Instead of useing a fmc is there a formula or something to find em out? useing things like weight tempature rwy length..

I'd also like to know how to find out what trim setting to use, and will a t/o even be possible if, say, the tempature is really really hot. and what thrust setings etc..

If the formulas used are aircraft specific then id like to know for the 763er.

Thanks
James

yeah good manual but it doesn't mention how to manualy calculate such things. Is there not ways to do it with out a computer doing it for you? I suppose there are charts but even how are they calculated?

The FMC must use a certain formula to get those speeds..

Thanks
James

Sorry I can't find an internet link for the B763, but here is a page that might help for the 737

Hmm, approach and climb speeds should really be part of the manual.
