Well I have been trying to maybe upgrade my current PC with Doug but cost and other things are preventing it, my current PC is just not good enough and the memory errors i'm getting were driving me insane, so I may now give it all up, I'm sick of constantly trying to get FSX going properly

So if I dont upgrade or anything, then all I can say is a thanks and goodbye to all the awesome members on NZFF and the help they've given me

Regards Terry, (Dash8captain)

My first thoughts...

You could always progress onwards to the lovely old, problem-free, smoothy-smoothy, FS 2004... thumbup1.gif ...!

I run my FSX now and again until it gives me annoying problems (Out-of-memory, etc), then I just click on the FS 2004 Icon on my desktop, and I am up and away again with no problems!

I get too much fun out of my Flight Sims to abandon them completely because of niggling little problems with my FSX...!

FS 2004 the way to go?.... winkyy.gif ...!

Paul...FS 2004+FSX+all the other versions!..... cool.gif ...!

P.S...With my various FS 2004 add-on bits and bobs, Freeware and Payware, there is very little difference between the appearance of my FSX and my FS 2004!
...its just that my FS 2004 runs so much smoooother!

There are honestly a number of ways to keep your FSX running without errors if you are interested, but you'll have to accept some logical cutbacks to suit your system... But up to you, if you want to throw it all away in favour of other hobbies, then fair enough for that too. Have enjoyed your screenshots for all the airliner action you have posted! You're always welcome in the real photos part of this forum even if you do give up simming winkyy.gif

Cheers,

That's a shame, if you are committed enough there is always Skype and remote support via Teamviewer to check settings at least. In any case, you may wish to follow Prepar3d as Lockheed is working on version 2.0 which has initially stemmed from the ESP code (known as FSX). Perhaps the advancements will allow you to return to Flight Simming if you decide to take a break.

Cheers,

Kelvin

Yes you can. Unlike FSX there is a mountain of good quality freeware stuff available and you will love the frame rates.

Hooray for FS2004....good on ya, Fozzer!! Haha...I still use FS2004 more than FSX.

Having said that, I'm getting fed-up with Microsoft and therefore contemplating a future move to Apple Mac, running X-plane.

I do notice one hell of a performance change with the compare of both sims .. fact is us greedy little buggers want more and more and has to be better ... when you step into a cockpit on today's latest payware - the old adage is the "As real as it can get" kicks in , with all the button pushin and knob twisting with the latest really puts ya inta the front seat and i believe that is what Flight Simulation should be all about , all it requires now is a good PC to which i'm lagging a bit behind now myself - but if your get the opportunity to see and want to learn the systems ... OH boy , that's what it is all about . cool.gif

Ian , I have lots of that in my Classic FS 9.1 install, big multi-rumblies and if you get it wrong, well, big birdie go Bang! and fall down... ohmy.gif
Have a look at CalClassic - there's even stuff that works in FSX these days.
