On hovercontrol along time back there was a question asked about How many people sim and played a musical instrument , it worked out most of the helicopter simmers played the drums ,oh and there where lots of them :D

so my question is exactly that ,how many ppls play musical instruments within the nzff community????

whats the instrument???
and what aircraft do you fly mostly fixwing or rotorwing???

Fixed wing .... I have two guitars, an electric and an acoustic-electric.

We have a drum set at home too ... my son and his mates have formed a band. He plays the guitar (has his own electric) and drums. Daughter was learning the sax and has a keyboard.

Our place gets quite noisy at times

Amazing thought...
Years ago I was a drummer - y'know one of those with a side snare in the parade.
Always wanted to elbow Ringo out of the Beatles but never quite made it.
Then settled for guitar.
No wonder I fly fixed-wing but actually think like a chopper person.

Very much fixed wing and used to play the trumpet but sucked at it cos i could never be bothered practising. Does reving the engines on a B747 up and down with the parking brake on count as an instrument??? I seem to be alright at that :P

Any ideas on what type of pilot plays the triangle?

Chris

glider? tho it would be more likely to be a wind instrument, like a jug.

Well I played Alto-Saxophone for a while then tried the bagpipes (guess its my scottish heritage shining through) wasnt any good but still blast the pipes from time to time specially at night when people are sleeping.

And I fly choppers.

Hmm, u chopper guys must like the beat eh.

Well i don't play anything, probably why I'm a developer rather than a flyer eh, when I do its all sorts, mostly fixed wing cause I was crap in heli's on FS9, but FSX has changed that, much more forgiving.

So does not playing a muse instrument make me a bad person?

just like on hovercontrol there is a trend starting here with fix and rotorwing guys
I see there are many flying fixwing that play keyboard or a wind instruments and there are at lest acouple that drum and fly rotorwing ,seeing that most fly fix wing here at nzff the odds are pretty good all round
We now have enough ppls for a pipe band {NOT}   >nzflag<

nzff pipe band ..what a joke lol

I fly choppers a lot, but don't play an instrument. However I love the drums and "air" drum all the time to my fave tunes. The drums and helo thing is rather spooky !!

I love flying Helo's even tho I'm in P38 mode at the mo' for the 'round the world race.
I play Guitar and Mandolin, that's acoustic for both. I was given a Piano a while back and I want to be at least belt out a few songs on that too. I do like playing David Bowies' Space Oddity. I can't play it but I do like Iron Maidens' Aces High.
Helo's and music really go well together don't they? To me the sound of a chopper is music!
Pink Floyd, Oasis and others have used Helo's in their songs. Slight change of subject but I do like the B747 taking off overhead of U2 while they're doing the 'Beautiful Day' song on the video.
Quite a few musicians buy and fly their own aircraft once they can afford to. Bruce Dickinson from Iron Maiden has his own Spitfire and Steve Morse has a collection of aircraft.
I've noticed alot of flight simmers play instruments too. Mostly guitar but that's aeroplane simmers not Helo's.
Dave Grohl from the Foo Fighters is one of my favourite drummers, even tho he plays guitar in the Foos now he still keeps his skills polished.

I forgot to mention I heard of one simmer who can't fly a Helo or an Aeroplane but does play the Skin Flute!
