I wonder how close it really is???

Not too far away from the sounds of things. This year at least...
I have had a 256gig ssd sitting around so it's about time to put it in the machine to get ready.

WIN XP is about to run out...
WIN 7 needs a very slightly gruntier computer than my ageing Core2 Duo...
FS9 can run under WIN 7, but there are going to be issues, no matter what.
Maybe this is the moment: bleeding edge hardware/WIN 7/P3D?
Whew, it won't be easy... I'll be watching Marty's thread with interest.
You'll be safe here with regard to hardware side of things, P3d version 2 won't have the woes that we are all used to with trying to tweak the hek out of it just to get it to a decent standard.

Sure.

If this has been included it'll avoid the need to rebuild everything every time there's a new version. Fingers crossed.
My own question answered by Lionheart Creations on SOH:
"They can now also update P3D with mini update packs instead of total reloads. That is nice. "
