Hi,
Know many may already know this info. I was running my system DX10 because it ran faster but there was many small problems. Searching round I came apon this
http://kostasfsworld.wordpress.com/fsx-sof...hardware-guide/
Somewhere in the changes he advises I must have pushed the turbo button as now speed is no longer an issue. I have gone back to DX9 and the total result is a huge improvement.
Give it a try.

I have tried DX10 in my curent setup tweaking and found major issues with it so this doesnt surprise me (And Kosta's guide is something I have read a lot). The biggest issue DX10 had was a lot of FSX addon aircraft and scenery objects were not made for it, they were made for the old DX9 and so either hampered performance or just showed up as white shapes. I also found a large improvement reverting back to DX9 and tweaking for that instead of DX10

Cheers for that link, made a new CFG file following these instructions and got an EXTRA 10-15 frame rates in places where I was sitting at 6-7fps

Funny thing is....

I seem to have been using DX 11 on my system (details in my Sig) since it was invented, with no problems whatsoever in FS 2004 and FSX!

(Frame rates no problem with everything running flat out, with my fast processor).

Fozzer, FSX cant use DX11, simply put it cant talk to it. It uses dx9 unles s you tic the dx10 box. A dx 9 progamme can only use dx9 its that simple. Yes win7 shows dx11 because that is the latest version, but it wil only show that even with dx9 and dx10 in stalled.
