Just a heads up to those of you whom might be contemplating purchasing the Flysimware C402 that is currently on sale.
I purchased this a week ago and have had issues with the P3D installer. It just gives up when it comes to selecting an installation folder. It wont do it automatically (as it should) and it wont let me manually select a folder either.
I emailed for support on the same day and again 3 days later. I have not even received notification of my support request. I will give it another day and then seek a refund from SimMarket.
Just beware.

Thanks for the HU, seem to be a few of these outfits grabbing moneys for nothing , Good thing Sim-market will come to the party.

Finally got a reply; 3 in fact and at the same time! Might have been my post on Avsim possibly.
Apparently this only installs to P3D V1.4. He is bringing out an updated installer for 2.2 in a week or so.
Why do they market it as P3D when there are now 2 versions of P3D. It is like FSX with or without acceleration.

That's good news you got a reply, hoping it was not going to be another Area51 debacle, I still spot that selling under the brand but without support ... least they come to the party with an explanation.

Not there fault. When it was first brought out it worked with P3d. Who was too know they would break something just like FSX and acceleration. Which is why im hanging out, dont want to have to pay each time they do another major version. and then theres the updates for the prdv2 planes.

That is a good plan to follow the builds of well ... what maybe the Simulator to have, but to have too pay for 1.4 then 2.1 and so on after purchasing models that need updates or not follow through , another example of that is the famed Cloud9 Phantom going from FS9 to FSX .. sorta caught between the transition but reversed the decision to build on the platform and worst telling paying customers they never mentioned they were going to do that ....

Places like SimMarket just need to be sure the platform that the product works on is described accurately. 2.2 has been out a while now and they should be updating the website descriptions with known info.
Yes I am guessing that the next change to P3D will be the 64bit upgrade. That will render everything already bought useless. Trouble is how long do you wait.

"the platform that the product works on is described accurately" and how hard is that ? Ive had problems in the past with this sort of thing , and if (for me) it cant be resolved with 24hrs , then forget it .
God only knows how much money Ive wasted on face value buying( my fault) .... i know better now .... read the small print , and if you cant find what you need to know ... ask , and if nothing appears ... forget it.
As far as customer support go's , there are some good guys out there ... my top 3 would be Aerosoft, Carenado, and Just Flight .

Having been in some sort of customer service area for the last 22yrs or so, and excelling in it, companies that do p... all in terms of support just basically p... me off. it's not that hard to deliver good customer service...

Right now I'm a supervisor and most of the idiots I work with are incompetent (Give me a one armed, half blind, semi-autistic monkey any day), but on my watch, they get drilled if they fail to perform, as I said, it's not that hard, and I may crack the whip but my watches don't get bad comments from management..
