I was over in Australia recently (see blog) and got to check out a fellow pilots home simulator set up. The cockpit layout is based on a Mig fighter (can't remember which one) with every switch and instrument programmed to work through a Windows 7 interface and DCS software.

Had a blast flying an A-10 around for a few hours one afternoon, and have a few snaps to share for those who are are into this sort of thing. I was very impressed!

Excellent simpit. How do they get those instruments to intergrate with the flight sim program?
I'm just hoping "she who must be obeyed" wont mind me having the forward nose section of ZK-SUH (747-400) when she gets chopped up, sitting in the dining room as a simpit...hell it could even become THE dining room as well....should tack on nicely to the side of the house.!

A lot of wiring, servos and coding calibration through some software I've never seen before.

DCS is a free 8GB download from thier official website- gave it a go today, the fluid flight dynamics felt noticeably different to the FSX engine, and the water textures look plenty better than stock M$ stuff, but combat sims just don't seem to do it for me after investing so much time tweaking my current setup.
