I have a saved Jpeg image on my PC I want to attach to a NZFF posting. Clicking "Insert Image" asks me for a URL, not what I want. How is it done? Yes so I am only a newbie still! sad.gif

hi,
pop over to this site: http://www.fsfiles.org/flightsimshotsv2/
Upload your image
when done, a series of links will be displayed.
copy the direct link
paste it into the box that opens up requesting a code on NZFF
save your post and you are done smile.gif

...when it comes to re-sizing the images, I always limit the width of my screen shots, photos, etc, in all Forums to a maximum width of 1024 or less (800), to ensure that the image will fit, full size, without sideways scrolling to view the whole width of the page in the Monitors of folks like myself who use a (small) monitor (17") with a maximum resolution of 1280 X 1024.
Remember that the Forum page "margins" will reduce the available width of the viewing area!

I find that much of the included text in the page is obscured in oversize width image posting.....
Especially in the case of multiple images in the same thread!

"Bigger" is not always more beautiful!.... winkyy.gif ...!

...what I use for resizing and viewing: Irfanview

I'll just chime in my opinion here... the largest 'acceptable'* size on NZFF is 1280w, so if your resolution is this or higher, then I'd stick to this. Remember than most browsers offer the facility to resize images to fill your browser window -- in Firefox, it's right-click|View Image. You can then click the image to toggle between full size or reduce-to-fit. This way everyone sees the full image at it's largest size.

This applies to the 'image' forums, generally if you are posting images in any of the general forums then Fozzer's advice holds -- don't go so big that some most folk need to scroll.

Bear in mind that selecting the lowest acceptable size for the sceeenshot comp works against you for a lot of people who have larger monitors, as a 1024 image only shows up about a quarter of the screen.

*It is possible these days to display a 1280 or 1024 image on the forum, hot-linked to the full size image on Postimage.com or similar. This is the best way, in my opinion, if you use a resolution greater than 1280.
