Avionics Auto Shutdown

A place to converse about the general aspects of flight simulation in New Zealand

For some reason, during some flights in certain aircraft, all of my avionics systems (GPS, autoplilots, radios, lights etc) just shutdown.

For an example, today I flew the

Avionics auto shutdown the FS KBT Orion out of NZAA, and was planning on going down to New Plymouth, but 42 seconds after switching the autopilot systems on, everything goes dead. I resurrect everything by hitting CTRL+E (my engine auto startup key combo, although my engines are still running fine), but after 42 seconds everything dies again. I timed this with a stopwatch multiple times. I checked my failures set up in FS9, but nothing is set, and I have never used the feature anyway. I ended up my making an emergency diversion into Hamilton making a visual approach and landing.

Can anyone tell me why this is happening and how I can fix it?

This has also happened on the FFX 737 and PMDG 1900d in the past...

have you got the battery or generator switches in the right place?

reminds me of when ZK-TJL and I were flying joint cockpit on FSX- couldn't work out why the landing gear wouldn't retract, it was because i had switched off the hydraulic system. ^_^
