Virtual Air New Zealand

Does anyone tried Virtual Air New Zealand ? I thought about giving it a go but most of the aircraft seem to work on FSX.

Doesn't matter what platform you're on really, those FSX aircraft links are all to freeware examples you might use. A lot of us run P3D now w various compatible models.

Drop me a PM if you wanna know more Aviator

I had a good read of the website link you sent me and understand how it works. I realize they are only suggestions to aircraft you can download but expect the Beech 1900D and PMG 777
I am unsure where you can download the rest of the aircraft. There is still not a huge range of aircraft on the market yet for P3D and the closest thing I can find for the ATR 72 is the
Flight one but that is also only for FSX. So how do you get on for the other aircraft for P3D users.

Generally you will find most these aircraft as freeware, if you still have FSX installed , most of these can simply be dragged to your 'Sim-objects' airplane folder and it should work, as for the freebies the technique is almost the same , these don't or normally don't come with execution package and should be able to open the zip and put them in .... if it has a execution to install create a false folder in the program and install... that will require putting a few files in the right place generally pretty much done and done.

Thanks Ian, I no longer use FSX and only use P3D now. I did like FSX for its missions and much larger array of Aircraft. But more a less its trying to track down the aircraft for P3d.

I'm still installing P3D and FSX .. I'm in a learning curve with P3D, works but it dose have its glitch's regard to aircraft types you want to install, once I get more fluent with it I'll let you know.

Cheers, its great program, They did say that you get better planes at the cost of getting less. Some of the aircraft are really good but some a bit rubbish.

Go's both ways ... good example is the recent release , the DC-3 dates back to FS2002 then update to FS2004 , then rebuilt for FSX and P3D and now freely available at d/load sites .. thing is, it is a goodie .. so that is a start and seriously has a New Zealand connection.

Yes the Dc3 was good if I can recall the sound was not quite right ? I am hoping Flight one might consider making the ATR available on P3D as I know pilots for mount cook are trained on it.

As for the ATR .. we do have a few ATR drivers here , fact is there is on the old 'Flight 1' ATR is really old , 12 plus years minus ... I'd have to check the date I purchased it .. but even then maybe earlier than that.

I never knew the ATR was that old, I am tempted to reinstall FSX for the only reason I wanted to Join Virtual Air NZ and then I can try the Flight One ATR. What is your suggestion Ian ?

Even in FSX the ATR had its problem regard to the prop disk , I can't give you an option other than the PMDG 1900 , that is getting on Old, but a goodie
.. surely there must be plenty of freeware for the VA airline.

The following are available with native installers for P3D (the ATR isn't as detailed as the Flight1 model from FSX but there are a few 3rd party panel options to improve things)..
  • Carenado B1900
  • VirtualCol Dash8
  • VirtualCol ATR
  • Aerosoft, FSLabs and Blackbox/PSS A320s
  • TDS 787
  • PMDG and CaptainSim 777

And the following FSX models can apparently be coerced to run in P3D but I haven't personally tried it, but I know those who have, plenty of tutorials out there...
  • Flight1 ATR
  • CaptainSim, LevelD, SkySpirit and CLS 767s

Thanks Ian, yeah I only just converted recently like you guys by the sounds, its a shame there's no new ATR and were well overdue a new 767 although they wont be around for the real world ANZ for long. I should have mentioned the TDS 787 too which most of our senior guys fly, and of course they're eagerly looking FWD to the QWings release for that

Now the ATR has the real close NZ connection now , so surprised it has not been updated .. it would have been a money puller for the developers.

Thanks Dean really appreciate that. No I am surprised as well they have not updated the ATR. Is it PMG the best for the 737-300 ?
