Shalom and greetings alll,
I have a question about legalityy and copyrighht protection of any airport scenery please.
If I cannot find and cannot reach Lawrie Roache , is it illegal and against copyright regulations or is it legal for me to ask someone else to extend and widen runway of Lawrie Roache 's freeware NZCI scenery for FSX, please??
Regards,
Aharon

Generally, there will be something in the installation notes referring to any copyright restrictions.
If not, as long as it is not for commercial use, or to derive a profit from it, then it is fine. I've been doing it for years to improve my sceneries. Nothing major, but just correcting things like taxiway paths, aprons, nav aids and instrument approaches etc.
I am sure Lawrie would not object to the runway change if for your personal use Aharon.

Cowpatz,
Thanks for answers. I will re-read and study the installation notes regarding copyright restrictions.

Do you know how to widen and extend runway for FSX use, please?

Aharon

I do but I don't have FSX. I only have P3DV5 and MSFS loaded at the moment and P3DV5 isn't that compatible with FSX and could cause issues.
Toprob maybe be able to help you out as it is quite a quick job using ADE if everything is already loaded on a PC.

Cowpatz,
Thank you for your reply. I do not want to bother Toprpb because I think he is semi-retired from airport sceneries now and I think he wants to focus on having fun with MS2020/MS2024 creating new sceneries for those 2 new flight sims.
Guess I will have to look for somebody else to modify the runway so that I can recreate the 737 flight to that island.
Regards,
Aharon

Aharon, take a little time to learn how to use ADE and you can do this yourself, it really isnt that difficult or hard to learn and there are lots of tutorials on Youtube

Deeknow,
I am too scared to screw up FSX LOL I will stick to my simple talent of creating screenshots and let other professionals handle modifications of any airport scenery. Smiling I am not programming whiz.

The problem has been solved by someone who volunteered to widen and extend the runway of NZCI.
Now I am downloading and installing the Texel livery for TDS 737.
Hope to fly soon!
