Yes the 'X' part of FSX is the roman numeral 10.
FS8 = FS2002
FS9 = FS2004
FS10 = FSX

Nah, go on, as long as you phrase it in an entertaining and/or informative manner, and add at least one new 'fact' to the issue. I'm thinking of adding something myself. Oops, there I go...

FS9 is a fairly realistic Flight Simulator, also known as "FS2004: A Century of Flight"

FSX is a slide show presentation of the effects of global warming (ie. NZ is a desert) dry.gif

ROFL me too!!!

Oh darn I added to the thread.

I wonder if the next FS will be FS11 or FSXI. We will either have people calling it FS2 or FS 'Fixxy' biggrin.gif . Maybe Microsoft will create a brand new whizz bang name like Millennium Edition, or Vista!?

it's obvious - the next version is FSY

because Y follows X - and Y would we bother buying it when the computer to run it still hasn't been invented!
and it would all just be water anyway at the rate of MS global warming portrayed!

I have Microsoft Flight Simulator X. I bought with my computer 6 months ago. I have really enjoyed the graphics so far and wonder why you would laugh at it so much. What am i missing out on with fs9? Don't want to make any enemies, just constructive feedback. I must admit that New Zealand looks like a desert but how does it appear on fs9?

Thanks to Trolly by the way for helping me out yesterday. I can now post my photos of my world trip, but i feel a bit embarrased by other members photos, wow you guys a good!!!must be you fs9ers ay!!. Made my way from Whangarei to Norfolk, then Norfolk to LLes des pins (most southern aiport in New Caledonia) and tonight flying west across to Magenta in Noumea , New Caledonia. Would love to meet up with anybody and have a fly around. plane.gif

Don't worry KBG, the guys were just having a bit of a laugh- us 'FS9 Only' simmers are a bit cynical towards FSX as a joke due to the fact that the scenery for FS9 really is much more impressive than what comes default with the supposed 'latest and greatest' offering from Microsoft winkyy.gif

Mind you, this is with the mesh/topo/landclass addons from www.redbarent.com, when FS9 first came out it looked dreadful too.

If your computer can run FSX well, it will be able to run FS9 even better! Please go ahead and post your screenshots from your flight here in the forums.
