Hi everyone.

I have just bought FS9 and i am just using my basic mouse and keyboard. Does having a Joytick improve the games enjoyment? Becuause at the moment i am really tired of not being able to land properly, and it's starting to put me off the game!! Thanks.

Absolutely!!!
Spend about $60 and get yourself a Saitek or a Logitech.

I picked this one up for around $60. It has a great hat-switch on top which is great for viewing in the 3-d cockpit, good solid weight and tons of pre-programmable buttons to use. Remember also once you have it you can play other flight games like IL-2 and others. Plus having the little throttle at the bottom makes it a good buy.

Go to Dick Smith, Haervey Norman, all those guys sell them.

If you have more money you can work your way up to Saitek's controllers.

Both names are good solid joystick companies, anything else i wouldn't buy.

Another one to suggest is the Microsoft Sidewinder Precision Pro 2.....they dont make them any more but can be picked up on Trademe second hand.

I wouldnt suggest the Genius joysticks that you will see around... I bought one new....it died pretty quickly

Definatly get one, you don't have to spend alot, anything will do to start, then spend a bit more on one of these nice ones. I have a Siatek, its great and has lasted very well, Siatek is definatly a good option.

Thanks
James

I prefer the Saitek Cyborg Evo. I got mine at the Gamesman for $75.
Cyborg Evo:

Or if you want to spend a bit more, you can look at the Saitek X52. About $250.
X52:

A yoke and rudder pedals will be around $5-600 so the X52 is a good intermediate.

I've got an X52 + Rudder Pedals (Saitek), I couldn't imagine flying well with the keyboard/mouse anymore, would be very difficult for me. rolleyes.gif
