Hey all im back again with some more questions.

This time its about making my own custom AI, so here's a little story to start off with, when i purchased my PMDG product not to long ago Aerosoft thru in a free copy of MyTrafficX, which was very nice of them and i loaded it in and Chringed!!! wow that software is UGLY!!! so i took that program off quicksmart and since then have been using VOZ AI which is really nice (to my standards) but now that im starting to venture off over contanents it gets a lttle loanly flying into airports such as SanFran or Singapore and only having 3-4 planes there, all international flights from the VOZ AI, so what i was asking is...what do all you other simmers use? i tried using Ttools but that program just scrambled my brains, wasnt sure on what the hell to do, i see that world of AI is very popular...is this the one to go for? and if so can someone run me through on how to setup my AI and flightplans?
Cheers guys, i know i seem to ask alot of questions but im such a bloody fussy bugger that i always seem to want things realistic as possible. tongue.gif

Try Project Ai. Models are of similar quality to VOZ and once you download the installer you download individual airlines. FPS friendly too.

Yea, I have some PAI models lying around somewhere as well, although I don't often get the chance to use them much. Still, they look good when I saw them, and noticed basically a zero impact on the frames for me. thumbup1.gif

when you mean you dont get a chance to use them much, what do you mean? do you use other custom AI?

I do hardly any simming (and even less offline). winkyy.gif

PAI was the original fullblown AI effort.
Some of the early models are now showing their age, however.
I see in my AI folder I have 330 PAI airlines, and 100 WOAI.
(About half of the WOAI aircraft have been used just to replace older PAI.)
If I were starting from scratch, I'd start by downloading WOAI and filling in any gaps with PAI.

Yesterday was a highlighted day in my FS career - I finally managed to get some AI stuff working, via TTools. Most of you had this sussed long ago
but until recently my system wasn't up to it, and neither was I. Finally after persevering, I got WOAI Air NZ and Qantas, working. Auckland International
was interesting, at one stage I had 5 Boeings on the tarmac within 300 metres of each other and actually taxying thru each other. It would seem that two different Airlines trying to
taxi out and take off at the same time isn't going to work. If these planes are running to ANZ and QANTAS schedules, how does this happen ? Or have I missed
something.?

Is there any other "custom" AI traffic for NZ skies I should be looking at ?

I am interested in carrying on a bit with this and would like to post some GA aircraft into the skies. What programs are you guys using to arrange this?

You might want to look at the marvellous GNZLAP developed right here by Charl, Jenks and others. smile.gif Its available on AVSIM. winkyy.gif

Personally, I download published, up-to-date Flightplans from AvSim, hunt down the particular repaints required, edit (where necessay) and compile the end result with TTools. That way, I have (reasonable) control over the end product.

For example: I'm running the latest (published) ANZ traffic timetable but use ARNZ baby boeings (with the wayyyy excellent animated service vehicles, et al.) rather than PAI, Fruit Stand or Aardvark B737's. When a new (Winter/December) timetable is published, the process will start all over again. Sure, it's a learning curve, but hey ...

Following advice from Alex.,I have been trying to locate GNZLAP at Avsim but having no luck. I have tried several times with
different names including GNZLAP22.zip and 50.zip, plus the name Charl, in the main directory and FS2004 AI Aircraft.
Still no luck. Some of the entries mention GNZLAP but that's all. I have found in the past that the AVSIM search library facility is pretty rough. Google hasn't given me
anywhere else to look - any ideas ?

EDIT.

Have managed to find it over at no-nodes (FlightSim.com). If I can get it to download I'll be happy. Dunno what the problem with Avsim
was, they either have dumped it or their search engine needs some work.

Hi Bazza. I got my copy from flightsim.com. Do a search for "gnzlap50.zip" there, I just checked and its still present.

Thanks Dean, found it and got it. I think I need to take some time out and study the "read me" for a change. I have absolutely zero
payware in the aircraft department, prefer to spend my extra cash on scenery, so need to assess whether there's anything in it
for me.

The 15 bucks (Now around NZ$18) for HTAI models isn't too bad as it not only provides access to the unique NZ Cessna models but places Cessna AI all over the world too.
If this is too much for your budget, 50% of GNZLAP is based on freeware models.

Yeah I forked out for the HTAI models. It's funny isnt it, not only is paying for software a slightly abstract purchasing concept, but paying for "virtual software", ie some aircraft in this case which you dont even get to fly. Man I'm sure that's just totally out there for some folks :D

Mind boggles, you first have to lash out on expensive hardware even to see any of it!
But the best way to think of AI aircraft is to view them as moving scenery.
This is better than static scenery, and you get more of 'em...
