Has anyone else noticed the rapid decline in scenery designers prior to the launch of FSX? The one that comes to mind most is Simflyers. Their last update was over a year ago with Boeing Field, and since then not a single word. Another to go this way is Westsim in Australia and also there was a payware Sydney International coming out for FS9 (Forget who was doing that) but that stopped long ago.

I could be as so bold as to blame FSX for their dissappearance but they vanished well before FSX came out. Does anyone know what has become of them or even if they are going to return? I have tried contacting them but no responce. I know Westsim has "claimed" they will be back shortly but even that was almost last year.

In their area's they were great designers and it is a shame to see them go, I can only say thank you to our really good designers here in Gods Own for not going the same way...

It happens. Developers give up, for whatever reason (new house/job/future ex-wife/kids/poor health/achieved goal/had enough etc etc) , and new developers appear. The appearance of a new sim does seem to act as a trigger for some, but I'm not convinced it's the root cause so much as a convenient excuse. There was a similar effect when FS9 came out.

Yeah I really liked Westsim's stuff, have some of their smaller Perth regional airports still installed. Maybe VOZ killed them off/incorperated them? I remember they said they were going to make a payware Perth International too.
