It's happened again - usually good for a discussion, a lot of "non-hands on" simmers still feel they can land 4 engined jets...?

Despite this guys 150 hours he didn't appear to be very confident. Wife and kids performing and praying in the background wouldn't help either.

He's done well - I know I would be shitting myself (with 50-something hrs behind me in C150s tecnams and 172s). I'm skeptical about anyone who says they could land a big plane like the King air - it wasn't many hours ago that I found myself getting behind the game in a 172, after only flying 150's for ages. And the performance difference is only 20 knots cruise and an an extra 500 feet per minute in the climb.

The difference between a King air and a 172 (as the guy in the story flies) would be very hard to deal with - let alone something bigger (turbine engines, much faster, IMC)

Good on him for landing it safely, thumbup1.gif I don't think I could, despite flying one in flightsim wacko.gif

Cool link! And hey - if the Mythbusters can safely land an Airbus with no previous flying training and only coached over the radio by ATC then who knows!?! God forbid I should ever have to try and talk an inexperienced pilot into landing an aircraft!
