Saitek Cyborg Evo joystick

hi

My $40 joystick isant working anymore and im thinking of getting a $80 Saitek Cyborg Evo joystick from the down under pilot shop.
any useful info about this joystick eg is it realiable or does it have somthing you dont like about it please let me know. so i know what it is like and if its worth the money.

Go buy it they are robust great sticks there are other topics that i cant link you to at the moment but if you search evo stick or something along those lines you will find that its not just me that likes them...9 outta 10

I've had mine now for about 3 years. Not one complaint!

Saitek also do the Aviator Joystick. If your particularly interested in having dual throttles, it might be worth a look. I have both, but use my Evo because of the position of the throttle.

ive got the wireless version. very sturdy and works well.

BUT: although wireless is a great idea, i need to replace the batteries about once every two month (sound like a long time but it is really quite annoying when the time to replace comes around. especially in-flight during a banking turn ) and... my throttle is slightly, ever so slightly loose. it is only an issue when tryin to use 0-1/4 throttle (so gravity is mostly at fault here because at this throttle setting, the lever is pulling directly down on the hinge. i just get into the habit of having hands-on-throttle-and-stick most of the time.

other than these two issues, they are great sticks

Had mine about 6 months and am quite happy with it - no problems apart from some planes seem to be very "skittish" when trying to line up a take-off with
the twist rudder. Then again other planes are virtually rock solid so it may not be the fault of the stick. Would recommend it.

I used to use a Cyborg Evo, and had no major gripes with it. The only thing that occasionally annoyed me was that sometimes the throttle wouldn't register being closed properly, which meant activating reverse thrust could be a battle. I think that was probably more a case of poor calibration on my part than an actual fault with the stick though.

I've had my Evo for over a year now and love it- very user friendly and smooth to operate, however, my only gripe would be that it's a little too light weight and sometimes requires me to hold it down on the desk when pulling aerobatic routines- wish it had sucker pads on the bottom like my previous cheapy DSE stick did!
