This is what can be done with editing

A forum to share your FS video clips and movies

There are some real good examples of people who have take game footage and after adding video and sound effects come up with some real spectacular results.

I haven't seen too many pure FlightSim examples, but I urge anyone interested in WW2 action to check out the following:

Maximum Bob - Ambush (YouTube)

Maximum Bob - Mitchell, a historical representation of the development of the Spitfire. This is a link to the full version

Maybe we could do something like these with FS?

Matt

Oh my. I'm tempted to rush out and buy IL2.
Then again, I suspect we are dealing with a Pro video merchant here, so the raw footage may have looked a little different.
We will talk in future posts about the rythm and pace of moviemaking; that Ambush clip has real drama.
You see stuff like that and you are driven to go back and throw away 90% of your previously favourite work.
Not a bad thing, really, it ups the stakes a bit and makes you want to try harder <_<

I really enjoy IL2, there's a small but dedicated NZ community, and we fly most nights, either dog fighting maps or co-op missions. Monday nights are the most active. I bought the all in one DVD that was recently released - about $50.00. It's a steep learning curve, setting mixture, flaps, pitch, ammo, fuel etc and you have to practice energy fighting or you'll just stall/spin all day.

Anyhow, Maximum Bob is Barmyfluid on the UBISoft Forum In that thread he reveals some secrets such as slowing down the motion and using panning techniques. It's all in the timing I guess but not out of the realms of our capabilities.
